20/11/2016 So much more than just swimming.

Having just returned from over 3 months of travelling, it was wonderful to be greeted by the smiles and hugs of all my B&B buddies. Then to hit the pristine waters of CTB, no homecoming could have been sweeter. Meanwhile as another day dawned, swimmers were making their way down for a dose of happiness....

Friends and friendships.

Morning all- today’s swim for me was all about friends and the friendships formed down with the B+B group. We had the memorial swim for Ed Selby who passed away from pancreatic cancer in October. His three sons paddled out into the bay with a circle of swimmers as they scattered his ashes. The Sandy...

We’ve seen Brexit and Trump now we have our own revolution brewing at the Bold and Beautiful… Some people are born revolutionaries, some acquire the revolutionary spirit, and some have revolution thrust upon them. 13/11/2016 No flies on us!

Mornin’ all. Inner Westies here. So what were all the flies doing hangin’ around this morning? Couldn’t wait to get in the water and away from them. Lovely swim – warm water (20 degrees) A bit of sediment around, but no stingers. 13 newbies and at least 300 swimmers!   Pretty big tide this morning...

12 November 2016: Roll over – no way!

The weather reporter whispered in my ear that it was a day to roll over and stay in bed. Rain, messy surf, super tide at 6.55am due to the proximity of the moon this month – closest in 70 years – were reasons given to pull those bed sheets a little higher. However, we ocean swimmers...
