Spectacular…..Spellbinding…..Serene….Sensational….Stunning Sunrise!

I couldn’t choose which adjective to best describe the beautiful morning, so you have them all! It was perfect. I will try and detail the highlights  to the best of my ability, for those unfortunate swimmers who couldn’t make the swim this morning.

It was a very comfortable 22.7 in the water which was  smooth and glassy. Visibility wasn’t 100% but still good enough to see an abundance of amazing fish. Why would you go to an aquarium when you have this amazing experience at our shore line. And its FREE!! The sunrise produced a burst of bright, red light as it appeared above Shelly Beach, which then cast amazing colours on to Manly beach. The soft grey of the clouds met the bluey green grey of the ocean at the horizon. The gentle light produced a wonderful silhouette effect as everyone waited at the Point. The calm waters  allowed our voices to carry further than usual, making it easy to hear all the  laughter and high spirits as we waited for the Let’s Go. Together with the Drinks express at 6.30, our combined numbers were 270 swimmers, however at times it felt like no one else was swimming nearby. Everyone seemed relaxed.

I met newbie Mark, Simon and newbie ‘kiwi’ Steve. They were all swimming and then heading to Newcastle for a work meeting.

Fiona and Cheryl. Fiona with her beautiful new look has asked me to include this thank you:-

A HUGE thank you to all the wonderful B&B’ers who kindly donated in support of my hair cut. I have been blown away by your generous support.

In addition to 2 ponytails of 40cm locks that they will sell to make a wig, we have raised $2,397.10 for Variety Club Australia so far, which is 3x times the original target!

Your donations will help families and kids (with disabilities and medical conditions) to enjoy life and just be kids, through financial support for things like wheelchairs, specialist equipment, therapy,
and medical supplies, when they can’t afford it, and when government assistance isn’t available. – See more at: https://www.variety.org.au/vic/how-we-help/support-programs/

Thank you from the bottom of my heart. You are truly
awesome.

Not only do I feel a million dollars, my B&B swim cap will now fit better!

Well done Fi. You are a beautiful woman!

Dorset wasn’t doing a jig, but proudly showing me his new quad and glute activation system. It is going to make him swim faster and stronger.

The extremely excited Drinksy Express heading out at 6.30

Matt with his friends. He had just come off night duty up at the hospital. What an amazing way to wind down after a busy shift. Hope you have a good sleep!

There was so much under water activity. There was an abundance of fish, many I don’t know the names of. The turtle was sighted as well as a big wobbegong

It took me an hour to get back from my single today because it was just so fantastic in the water. I really didn’t want to get out. I think everyone felt the same. There were so many beaming smiles over the post swim coffee

Jim, Martin, Bernhard and Simon

I know that if you swam today it will have set you up to enjoy whatever follows. If you couldn’t swim, don’t worry there is always tomorrow.

Have fun whatever you do.

Fantastic blog again Lisa with beautiful photos. I’m leaving the gas mask at home, it didn’t really work that well! Thanks for pointing out the turtle Edwina and the squid Lisa and Fiona. Congrats Fiona!
