20/06/2011 – Toasty Swim…

June 20, 20117

48 ‘ticked’ Bold & Beautiful swimmers.

Sensational swim today, lovely and clear with lots of fish and 9 of our baby sharks.

As the sun broke the horizon there was a sailing ship that sailed so graciously in front of the sun as we were heading out to the point, it really was very spectacular and captured beautifully in one of the photos below.  The first five photos are courtesy of James Goins.

As we swam back there was an overwhelming smell of beautiful
burnt toast wafting towards us, which certainly inspired us to swim back fast for brekkie 🙂

Don’t forget our winter solstice celebratory swim tomorrow, with a pagan style singsong at the point followed by beautiful yummy swimmer-made cakes to share at Manly Wine after the swim – should be great fun 🙂

Spectacular photo of one of the pesky little Jimbles, courtesy of Gaetan Guilhon, great photography Gaetan, thanks heaps !

Also, courtesy of Michel Le Vieux, guess who lives on the bouy that we swim over almost everyday… ?

Eastern Frogfish 🙂 Michel say’s we’re lucky they are ambush hunters. Brilliant Michel, thanks heaps.

Water Temperature 18.6 degrees.
Air Temperature 8 degrees.
Sunrise 7.00am.
Sunset 4.54pm.
High Tide: 11.41am.
Low Tide: 5.13pm.

ps. If this is going to be a proper Pagan ceremony can we sacrifice a virgin??? Or maybe a Christian or two???

Thanks for the link to the Aus Mus pictures of him, very cute indeed 🙂
I think it’s the long pole sticking up from the bottom, about half way across with what looks like a white buoy on top of it, it’s quite a way down, but Gaetan, Nick TB or Michel will be able to confirm for sure.
I think you would definitely need your snorkeling gear of to get down to see it, but I agree, I want to go and say hello to him too 🙂

correct it’s somewhere between the pool and the next 100m towards Shelly I’d say. Probably 6m deep and about 50m from the shore.
Let’s look for it tomorrow 🙂
