If you jumped in the water and swam to Port Augusta, west of Adelaide, you would have swum 3000 kilometers. That’s a bloody long way. That’s what Caroline has achieved today (my co-blogger in crime) going back & forth to Shelly over the past 5 years. And she is getting faster, I can’t keep up any more. She sneaks some flippers on a couple of days a week, and pushes some of the Drinks Express grey hounds in their race back to Manly. What a legend, well done Baby Spice!

Where it began, I can’t begin to know when

Was in the spring

And spring became the summer
Who’d have believed you’d come along?

Can you believe a baby Minki whale cruised into the bay yesterday!!! Here is a photo, that may or may not have been taken yesterday. It is a Minki whale 🙂

Rusty’s Pitch report:

What a cracker. We might have bottomed out on the temperature? 16.1. Let’s hope so. Brett led us around the bay, super clear although the $10 speedo specials were causing a few problems on the return lap. 2 cuttlefish, one who was preening in front of Brett. No sign of the turtle, off to hospital yesterday per Lainey. It was last seen giving Snoopy a surprise in the dark yesterday. No waves, no swell, no wind, just majestic cruise weather. Couldn’t convince the gang to check PJs at boulders (we saw one last week there), determined to get back to hot showers. No Minki whale today. A big 7am crew greeted us at exit. Hope you enjoyed the sunshine. See you in the ocean!

And a big shout out to Chelsea at Taronga zoo veterinary hospital for an update on the rescued turtle from the bay yesterday. Getting great care from the legends over there 🙂
