62 ‘ticked’ Bold & Beautiful swimmers.
~15 people continued on for a second lap and 5 of those continued on for a third, well done guys !!
It was certainly brisk in the air this morning, but boy it was lovely in the water !
More stunning photos from James Goins this morning, including one of Greg McDonagh in the foreground before the swim and Neil Cowin after. Thank you James 🙂
Plus a very sad photo of a dead
shark, with what looks like a hairband stuck around it that Gaetan found on his snorkel yesterday afternoon 🙁 Jane what type of shark is it ?
As Collie Kinsela drove through Lane Cove National Park on his way to swimming this morning the temperature gauge in his car showed 1 degree !
It’s a significant day tomorrow… The 7am swim is the first possible swim of winter which
swimmers can qualify for their winter badge, as it’s the first day of the 7th week of winter ! How exciting, once you’ve qualified for your badge you can have great satisfaction knowing that each winter swim from there on in is a passion swim 🙂
Apparently there are some swimmers interested in an early bonus lap tomorrow morning at 6.20am who’s keen ??
~30 of us had a lovely outing to Manly Cinema yesterday evening
to watch Oceans together, it was fantastic, well worth seeing !!
Don’t forgot drinks today from 3pm at the Sable Bar for anyone who’s keen
Water Temperature 19.0 degrees.
Air Temperature 6.5 degrees.
Sunrise 7.00am.
Sunset 5.01pm.
Low Tide: 9.19am.

My ID is a catshark, genus Asymbolis, or a collared catshark, genus Parascyllium. I’ll check at the OzMus on Thursday.
I have been trying to decipher the skin markings (spots etc), to help ID, but it’s a bit hard to be precise, maybe a bit decomposed?
Great that Gaetan photographed the underside too because the mouth features are very important in the ID. Also great that we can see his finger to get an idea of the scale.
What would we do without our marvellous photographers?
