100 ‘ticked’ Bold & Beautiful swimmers.
With 29 of those swimmers completing a second lap. Pretty damn impressive for mid winter – gosh you guys are impressive. Robin Turner commented on the proportionally increased number of non wetsuit swimmers this winter too… 😉
It was just gorgeous this morning, the water was positively warm and so beautifully clear. Lots of leatherjackets, groupers and yellowtail swimming around with us, plus the cuttlefish was out to play 🙂
More beautiful photos courtesy of James Goins today, thank you James ! James thinks the sea lice may have showed up in the last picture of this blog. James says he’s been feeling them in the water for a few days but now he thinks we’ve seen them 🙂
It’s Tim Ettle and Linda Goodwin’s one year anniversary of swimming with Bold & Beautiful today, so as Timberle said it’s one year since he cried going across to Shelly 😉 You
really should have done two laps to celebrate you know… but the celebratory cake at Brekkie was a pretty good alternative, in fact it was beautiful and lovely that you celebrated the occasion, thank you !
The Cougars are having drinks this Sunday, that’s tomorrow, at the Sable Bar, above the Charlie Bar at the Manly Pacific from 3pm, everyone is welcome.
Don’t forget Oceans this afternoon, 5pm at Manly cinema with pink caps in tow. What a lovely social B&B weekend 🙂
Good luck to Iain McGregor who is doing his 6 hour swim at Balmoral today, not sure the water is going to be cold enough though…
Water Temperature 19.5 degrees.
Air Temperature 7 degrees.
Sunrise 7.00am.
Sunset 5.01pm.
Low Tide: 8.22am.
High Tide: 2.58pm
Deb Hanson has just sent through this great photo of three of our happy winter swimmers, Anita Keelan, Michelle Harris and Cynthia Alley 🙂

Michael, I’d say yesterday’s snail is a magnificent volute,
Cymbiola magnifica. Lovely pics, James.

A last reminder – “Oceans” could sell out, get your tix in advance, or come early. See you this afternoon!

Great to see a big turnout on such an ideal winters day. You missed out if you didn’t swim. Enjoyed the double crossing.

Great double lap this morning – sun was spectacular.
Although I lost my goggles in the surf – pretty common experience I know (this is the 2nd time for me) but these were magnified goggles for short-sighted people like me – a bit of money.
Does anyone in the B&B world know of a place to source these goggles – I’m just looking around for alternatives. Any help would be appreciated.

Hi Greg, what a bummer.
Try View, I use them and love them and they do prescription googles, check them out here:

Thanks for the advice Jules. Looks like they’ve got what I need – -8 lenses and for a bit cheaper and probably faster. Well done.
