This morning is proof of that saying, well it is today anyway.
You wouldn’t think so if you just saw this. Clouds, rain, just a few hardy punters coming out of the water and some rugged-up individuals seeking shelter from the rain.

However…..
Conditions under the surface were INSANE!!!!!
Groper was so intent on extracting tasty noms from the rock that it completely ignored me.

This hard coral, Pocillopora Aliciae is reproducing rapidly. Fun fact, it reproduces asesxually. That little black and white spot on the left is a small tropical fish. I saw a few of these going in and out of the branches, it seems they have found a safe place to live. Lets see if they survive the colder water of the next few months.

I’ve seen Sergeant Bakers close to this coral a few times. This one moved when I got close to it but came back right away, which is not behaviour I’ve witnessed previously.

Loads of Diamond Fish and Yellowtail Scads lately

But the pieces de la resistance were the Giant Cuttlefish! 2 males and a female. I spent a good 10 minutes wishing and hoping to witness some cuttlefish nooky (and getting colder by the second) but my presence may have put them off their stroke so I eventually left them to their important work of creating more cuttlefish.

I don’t know what causes this effect but I like it.

That’s probably more than enough photos.I’ll post a reel later today with these and additional footage on my eponymous insta page so have a look if you’re hungry for more.
This week’s musical offering is another Like a Version. I really like Wet Leg and this cover is fun. G rated, no bad language. They are from the Isle of Wight and started a band so they could get into music festivals for free. Now they are headlining them so mission accomplished I’d say.
