08/12/2011 – Hide & Seek

December 8, 20118

33 Bold & Beautiful swimmers.

Unlike some… 😉 Brendan, Cae, Gaetan and James were not deterred by the rain… as they hit the water at 5.30am and swam to Freshie and back before joining the rest of us at the point for a remarkably pleasant swim to Shelly and back.

The water was nicer than expected after a night of rain; it was reasonable clear with a

couple of dusky whalers for good measure.

There were plenty of blue bottles on the sand from yesterday’s high tide but none in the water – perfect, just how we like it 🙂

The ‘Freshers’ saw a pair of mega jellies up past Queensie, as you can see from James’ four great photos of the early adventures below.

Tim’s fact of the day: “Walrus’ change colour when they go in the water.”

We’re really looking forward to your company at our B&B Retro Christmas Party tomorrow evening ! 7pm upstairs in the private function room at The Steyne Hotel, should be a great night, so please come and join in the fun 🙂

Water Temperature 19.5 degrees.
Air Temperature 17.5 degrees.
Sunrise 5.37am.

Sunset 7.56pm.
High Tide: 7.29am.

Low Tide: 2.08pm.

Anna’s in that white froth somewhere…

Woohoo!!! I broke the 100km barrier today! Hardly “hot on the heels” of the top 10… but quite pleased at nearly being in Newcastle!

    Well done Cae 🙂
Cool photos specially that one with the guys surfing the wave!
Water was a lot warmer and clearer towards QC/Freshie than Shelly actually, so I encourage everyone to do Bolderdash tomorrow 🙂

apparently Cae wants to to break the 200km barrier before Xmas so we are going to leave at 5:25 to Freshie and then on the way back we will join the Bolderdashers at QC.
James is coming too, feel free to join!

Yay, let’s invite the Mola Mola Sunfish (fabulous name!) as it not only looks cool, it eats blue bottles.
I’m planning on doing the 5.50am Queenscliff swim, hope to see many of yous then.

Is this a record? No dolphins on the daily attendance. Sorry I missed today. Back tomorrow.
