07/12/2011 – Snow Report from Manly

December 7, 201112

88 Bold & Beautiful swimmers.

A great turn out of 21 swimmers
for a fantastic Bolderdash this morning, with a nice group huddle under Queensie headland.  Congratulations to Peta Saunders and Sophie Coombes who participated in their first Bolderdash.

The Shelly swim was beautiful too with the water really starting to clear, as you can see from the photo of the Wobbegong half way across.

There are calm ideal conditions predicted for the rest of the week, all we need now is the tropical water temperature we ‘so rightfully deserve’… and it looks like it may be on its way as Michael has detected some 22 degree water heading right for us !! 🙂

Thanks to James Goins, Peter King has kindly sent us a Pacific Challenge postcard from Wamberal Beach today !!

Peter is first pink dolphin to feature in a postcard 🙂

If you don’t have your photo on the wall of fame you appear as a pink dolphin on the daily attendance.  To help people put names to the faces they swim with each morning please either ask Michael to take your photo at your next swim or email us a nice close up picture and we will put it straight up on the wall of fame for you.

A lovely happy photo off the point and a nice shot to finish of John Forster and friends swimming back to shore. P1000457a

Get your dancing shoes ready for our B&B Retro Christmas party this Friday evening, from 7pm upstairs at the Steyne Hotel in the private function room, with our very own DJ, Warwick Edman.  The Steyne Hotel are kindly supplying complementary finger food and we buy our own drinks from behind our own bar 🙂  It should be a great night, so please come along and enjoy a
fun evening with your swimming buddies.

Don’t miss out on your 2012 B&B calendar, we still have some left. If you’re looking for that great stocking filler or maybe that lightweight present to send overseas they are perfect ;-).  You can get them after the daily swim or order yours online here.  We can even mail them for you…

Tim’s fact of the day: “Walrus’ walk on their teeth.”

Manly Wine have a box inside their front door where they are collecting toys for the Smith Family  So if you would like to contribute to this great cause please feel free to drop in with some children’s toys.  All donations will be greatly appreciated, thank you.

James has spoken to Alex who is out of hospital, walking a little and recuperating at a residence in Darling Point.  At this stage, Alex says, things are going as well as could be expected and that “it’s all good!”  He sends his best wishes to you all and is really looking forward to getting back in the water with us soon.

A nice photo from Ocean Swims of Bruce Baird from the Bondi to Bronte swim on Sunday.

Water Temperature 19.0 degrees.
Air Temperature 18.0 degrees.
Sunrise 5.37am.
Sunset 7.56pm.
High Tide: 6.49am.
Low Tide: 1.26pm.

I forgot to mention Michel saw dolphins this morning too, I think it was at Freshie… is that right Michel ??
So the couple of dashers who thought they saw something it just might have been those dolphins on their way up to see Mich 😉

Great photos, I especially like the one of the Dashers at Queensie.
I will be doing an unofficial one at 5.50 tomorrow if anyone wants to join me. Tim, I have my usual goggles this time so hopefully no delays to fix leaks and Michael, I will bring my own towel this time !

I’ll join, it was so good this morning to QC, should be similar tomorrow (not sure about what the easterlies will bring though :-)!).
