77 ‘ticked’ Bold & Beautiful swimmers.
9 people did an early lap this morning; 8 swam and 1 paddled, 17 did a double and 5 people
did all three !! Very impressive
numbers all round, well done 🙂
The water is absolutely lovely and warming up by the day !! We were joined by a large Eagle Ray just off the point at the start of the early lap, which James Goins managed to catch on camera. There were so many Port Jacksons around this morning too, it was a trooper of a swim.
I’m sure there will be people keen for a pre and post lap tomorrow too ???
A bonus at brekkie for us all this morning; we got to celebrate Brigitte Bowes 1 week birthday with her. Brigitte seemed pretty content with all of her coffee cuddles too and she sure got plenty of them, even Jenny Knapman had a cuddle 😉
Brigitte fitted in beautifully donned in her pink nappy, winter badge and grey hoodie !! She will have her 10km badge sewn on ready for her next coffee cuddles as she did actually qualify… she was only a couple of weeks in the making but she sure did it.
Daddy Pete saved a dolphin or the like by rescuing a pastic bag and swimming back with it in his togs. That’s the third plastic bag we’ve swum back with this week.
Tim’s fact of the day: “Using its web-like skin between its arms, an octopus can carry up to a dozen crabs back to its den.”
Water Temperature 18.8 degrees.
Air Temperature 16.5 degrees.
Sunrise 6.24am.
Sunset 7.02pm.
High Tide: 6.45am.
Low Tide: 12.40pm.

Great swimming conditions today even though a little overcast and a good turnout for the normal second lap. Well done for those who did the triple crossing.

Indeed John. Water feels so warm and is quite clear. Lovely pictures Jules, and that massive eagle ray, wow very cool James!

Divine swim, so much fun; gotta love the colour of the water.
Lovely to meet you little Brigitte, beautifully behaved, a real ‘cutie-pie’. Hang on, that was a kiss I planted on your head, not a bite. Thanks for cakes Iain, where did you buy them?
Fabulous photos, but it does look dark at 6.20am. Do eagle rays launch themselves a couple of inches out of the water? Don’t know where I heard that.

Aaahahaha, Michael, I beleive you are calling out to footyland and you will not be heard.
If I am able to get out of bed early enough, which is a BIG IF, I will join you for an early Shelly swim 🙂

Good one Jules, wow wouldn’t it be amazing if one suddenly came flying out of the water. And pretty scary too, actually. Oh, and not to mention dangerous.
