08/07/2011 – Snails Pace

July 8, 201127

68 ‘ticked’ Bold & Beautiful swimmers.

A lovely swim this morning in surprisingly calm clear water after all the wind.

Great photos of today’s swim courtesy of James Goins, thank you James.

Roberto Suares saw a beautiful shark out wide whilst the swimmers in close to the walkway enjoyed watching a cuttlefish cruising around above the weedy rocks along with two super sized snails slowly trawling along the sea floor which you
can see perfectly from James’s fabulous photo.

Tony Box saw a blue ring octopus whilst he was diving at Shelly Beach yesterday afternoon.

The ABC reported on the radio this morning that today is the coldest day of the year so far, 5.5 degrees. Good job we were in the water, much warmer in there 🙂

Thanks Michel for doing the attendance, a great blog and leading the swim for us for the
last two mornings 🙂

B&B are going to Manly cinema to watch  Oceans at 5pm tomorrow, hope to see many of you there. It has been suggested that you get your tickets in advance as they may sell out.

Water Temperature 17.7 degrees.
Air Temperature 8 degrees.
Sunrise 7.00am.
Sunset 5.00pm.
Low Tide: 7.29am.
High Tide: 1.57pm.

Love the contrast of the pink round heads and the spikey trees in the background, great pics. Mr. Snail is awesome too!
