Good morning! How nice is it to have sunshine and a calming ocean. Visibility is improving as well, and should continue to do so with the swell turning to a Southerly direction, light offshore winds and sunny days for the next week or so.
Yes it is really winter and water temps will probably continue to drop for the next month or so before gradually rising again. But who knows, really.
As I’m getting over a lurgy I only did a half way swim and apart from Silver Sweeps, Tarwhine, Luddericks and a small ray cruising the sand in the break I didn’t see much. However Philippa and Kelly saw a turtle they weren’t confident to identify. It may have been a regular or a visitor, we will never know.
Swimmer on the way back to shore. It was a bit rippy coming back in with a few waves breaking but I found that going a bit wide and then letting the current give me a ride back towards the ramp worked well.
