72 ‘ticked’ Bold & Beautiful swimmers, which is a very impressive turnout for winter and with the current conditions it’s even more impressive.
There was a gorgeous sunrise for us to arrive to this morning.
The surf is settling down a bit, but it’s still huge and messy. About half the swimmers went out through the surf this morning, including Jenny Knapman, our original B&B swimmer, well done guys !!
The other half of us, the sensible half that is, swam too and from half way beach 🙂
Being middle aged… 😉 Anna Alvsdotter forgot she’d had a late night when she arrived late and automatically jumped in the surf this morning. But, she had her reality check half way out when she realised she wanted to breathe under a wave. What some people will do to get a free ride on a good looking guy’s board !!! Thanks Adrian, Anna said she really enjoyed herself. I think you might have people queuing up for you tomorrow 🙂
The rip is still in high gear, to quote Maureen
Rath, it’s like a slingshot, which is a very accurate description as it just propels the swimmers straight out the back 🙂
A great swim with a bit of chop to liven things up a bit this morning 🙂
Great to see Kelly Johnson back swimming today too, glad you’re on the road to recovery and back into it all again 🙂

Check out a few new B&B on tour photos:
Sven Peters and Madlen Altstaedt are currently in Europe and Sven captured Madlen enjoying a swim in the North Sea yesterday 🙂
Plus Dunstan preparing up in Cairns for the Ironman tomorrow. Good luck to Dunstan, Eric Miller and Mark Ayres who are taking part, along with any other B&B participants whom we are not aware of.
There are more great B&B on tour photos of our swimmers out and about on the webpage.

Only took 2 strokes to reach the point, quite amazing! And what a lovely sunrise:

Wow!! I am really impressed with Jenny K, swimming out in the surf this morning. Congratulations, you have really arrived.
Check out the winter badge tally, there are over 100 swimmers who have swum since Wednesday, also quite amazing I think. Have a look and make sure you are correctly recorded.
Finally good luck to all the ironmen tomorrow.

Considering the waves you guys are amazing!
Must admit my swim in the north sea was short but for 15 degrees…
Apart from a group of 4 young women and kite surfers (in wetsuits) there was nobody in the water.
I just did it for the B&B spirit and to proof I am crazy enough…
Big hello to down under from Hamburg. 🙂

Really sweet of Adrian to come out and meet me on the board today. I would have made it in quite safely taking my time, but feeling more middle aged than usual, I gladly accepted the ride in.
Nice wave, by the way, we should do it again 🙂
Will make sure I arrive nice and early tomorrow morning so I can pick a more suitable moment to catch the rip in between the sets. Will also make sure I’ve had my full eight hours of beauty sleep…. You wouldn’t know it by looking at me, but I’m not 18 anymore.
Also: thank you to gorgeous surfgirl Sophia who let me catch my breath by her board for a few minutes. xx
