Such a delight to experience the beautiful Manly Beach after a week away!!!

I spent a week in North West Auckland (right in the middle of Cyclone Vaianu but was not really impacted) and while the beaches are beautiful, South Steyne and Cabbage Tree Bay are my spiritual home.
This is Muriwai Beach, one of New Zealand’s black sand beaches.

Circumstances prevented me from leaving home early this morning so I didn’t catch up with people for any length of time but headed straight for Vitamin Sea.
Visibility was very good but the water was quite milky. Still I’d give it a solid 8/10.
The aquarium was teeming with the little fish, busy getting on with their fishy lives.

While I didn’t see our favourites Basil, Billie, the Octopus or the Giant cuttlefish I did see 2 wobbegongs. This one was in shallow water so I was able to get an OK photo of it.

I sptted the nest of our Octopus friend but it was uninhabited. Hopefully no human has been trying to do any maintenance or improvements to it, I’m sure Mr O likes it just the way he created it.

Finishing off with a Fiddler Ray and some Squid who kindly positioned themselves in decent light for long enough to get a few half way decent photos of them.

I’ve been listening to an album of Duets by Chrissie Hynde and various artists. This is her and Julian Lennon doing It’s Only Love by The Beatles. Enjoy.
