I Love This Community

It was another stunning morning in Manly. I managed to find a fantastic car park on Victoria Parade and I ran into all round great guy, Cam. We enjoyed a lovely early morning coffee at Hakan’s (pre 6.30am).

 

We then walked around to the B&B swim where we were greeted with a beautiful sunrise.

 

The B&B swim is comprised of a group genuinely lovely people. It’s always fantastic to be greeted by the delightful people at B&B before the swim. I couldn’t take photos of all of you but I’ve included photos of some of these lovely people in today’s blog.

 

JP, Sterls and Cam checked out the conditions at the point. For some reason, it looks like I photoshopped them into this photo but they were there standing in front of the fence.

Jenny and Georgina have lost a ….. bag of bras. If you’ve accidentally taken them home please kindly return them either to Management or Jenny / Georgina.

Roz and Lainey were at the swim bright and early. They’ve both been working very hard preparing for the Australians for Women’s Health Trivia Night to be held on 18 July 2017, please see details below. Roz was telling me about some of the prizes and they sound amazing including a luxury holiday on Magnetic Island and great accommodation in Port Macquarie to name just two examples.

 

Jason (on the left) and Andrew are both doing www (winter without wetsuit). I’m pretty sure this involves swimming without a wetsuit on 20 occasions spread out over seven weeks in winter.

 

Who said swimming isn’t a team sport. Bruce, JP, Sterls and Holly are wetsuiting it up this winter.

Gorgeous Poppy and Sybilla sold delicious hand made maple syrup and cinnamon muffins to B&B swimmers, 100% of the proceeds will be donated to Bear Cottage, great work girls!!

The Giovanelli Brothers (Jimmy and Tim – the Bishop, Pastor at Manly Life). Jimmy recently became a dad for the first time, congratulations to Cate and Jimmy Giovanelli on the birth of your beautiful baby boy, Floyd!!!

 

I love Kara, Holly and Julia such beautiful, accomplished girls x

Naomi Pearce Coates, the mother of Audrey, is looking for other young mums and dads from B&B who are interested in arranging a baby-minding group so parents can take it in turns looking after each other’s bubs ensuring no one misses out on the swim. If you’re interested please see Management or Naomi.

Note from Management: to clear up any confusion, the 2017 Quiz Night is not a B&B event.  It is an event run outside of B&B by two B&B members, Roz Beaver and Elaine De Jager to support Dr. Rays charity.  The normal B&B quiz night will be held next year in 2018.

 

               Australians for Women’s Health TRIVIA NIGHT

Tickets are selling fast for the A4WHTrivia night being held at The Steyne on Tuesday 18th July, 6-9.30pm

The theme is “Naughty”cal so let your imagination run wild with some fancy dress and join in the fun.  

John Kelly has kindly volunteered his services as quiz master and is sure to have plenty of “trivial” questions to challenge us.

The proceeds from the evening are being donated to Dr Ray’s charity, Australians 4 Women’s Health, who are building a hospital for women and babies in Charikot, Nepal.
