80 Bold & Beautiful swimmers.
6 swimmers tackled Bolderdash while Neil enjoyed an early lap into Shelly and back. Gaetan took these three great photos and a video here up at Queenscliff for us.
I’ve trialled this new feature of uploading photos as thumbnail galleries, where you can click on each thumbnail to view the larger version in turn below. You can then click on that larger version to take you through to an even larger version if you choose… Please let me know if this is better or if you prefer the previous way ???
Just like these two photos of three of our beautiful girls, it was an over and under kinda swim this morning with a fair bit of chop and swell, but surprisingly beautiful clear and very warm water !!

James was on the shore with his proper camera so we have a new dimension to the mix today including a great group shot at Shelly, thanks James !! 🙂
Congratulations to Maureen and Annette who along with many others swam out from Warriewood in the Mona Vale ocean race yesterday in what James said was very challenging conditions. Well done !!!
Now… full marks and total admiration goes to Hilde and Ragnill who took the challenge and swam for us, mid winter in Norway !!! Now this is seriously hard core and impressive and all in the spirit of a B&B adventure !!! Fantastic, love the photo and the report below. THANK YOU !! Just checking… it is the beginning of the daily branch of the B&B over there right ??? Yes, great… I’ll send you the password so you can post your own daily posts on the blog for us 🙂
Norway – Lovin’ It !!! 🙂
What: a proper www (winter without wetsuit) swim. Also called ice bathing.
Who: Hilde & Ragnill, proud owners of B&B caps, trying to pretend that we don’t miss Manly
Place: Trondheimsfjorden, 63 degrees north (FYI 63 degrees south crosses Antarctica)
Temperature: air -3, water 6 (a bit crisp)
Distance: 5 strokes out 5 strokes in
Was it worth it? Only if we get our photo on the blog 🙂
Australia Day is this Thursday… which is traditionally a massive 7am swim for B&B starting with Advance Australia Fair on the beach before we head off on our very relaxed swim. So please bring down your friends and family, but please swim with them as remember we don’t have water safety.
Anyone and everyone who wants to join in on craft is hugely appreciated !!!
Manly Wine are putting on a special breakfast for us: $10 for an egg & bacon roll or muesli with tea or coffee (FW or LB) to ensure everyone gets served quickly. They do however need an idea of numbers so please confirm here asap if you will be going to brekkie, thank you.

Air Temperature 21.5

OMG Ragnill and Hilde!! 6 DEGREES!! It’s a start though – congratulations on the beginning of the new Norwegian branch of the Bold and Beautiful! 😉 I bet you felt really amazing afterwards??
Despite the choppy water it was a great swim today the water was warm and lovely blue colour and fairly clear – enjoyed the scary waves coming back it….
Like the thumbnails Jules!

Jules.
Great idea on the new thumbnail view. Hope it encourages more swimmers to bring cameras down.
Nic and I took our B&B caps on a Fijian swim safari last year. Finally got this video together, so if any of you have ten minutes to spare you can return there with us.

I notice there were no male swimmers in the 6 degrees in Trondheim …they certainly wouldn’t have had 6 Degrees of Separation.

Gaetan
Do you have the link to your video from this morning? The link in the blog won’t work on my computer.
Cheers

Hi Simon, sorry I’ve fixed it, it was my error, you should be able to get it working now.

Gaetan that was a great video as per usual!!
It certainly captured the size and the power of the swell. Bolderdash obviously was not for wimps this morning. [that’s why I wasn’t there!]

If anyone wants to have an early swim, I’m doing an unofficial Bolderdash at 5.50 tomorrow. I can’t miss out on those 8 foot waves at Queenscliff!

I have actually immersed myself in water at 6.5c and I don’t think I could have taken one stroke let alone five out and back!!!
I would have to join Lesley to say OMG!! Well done! In some peculiar way I envy you both, I’d really like to give it a try one day.
We all miss you Ragnill. Lovely to hear from you.
