It’s all happening in Manly today. Ulta Run from Bondi to Manly.
Lots of activity at MSLSC.
Messy on the point, decent waves coming in, but swimmers still tackling them. The preferred path is straight down the middle to Shelly, which is a good idea because it is smelly and sludgy in Fairy Bower. If you swim from Shelly, it is calm, but smelly from the toilet block into FB. Poor viz.
So it was an immersive dip at Shelly for me.. and it feels cold again! That burn on the legs as you stand and shiver before ducking in – but not the face for me as a lot of algae floating around.
I met a couple, Maria and Tony, who live close by, and swim each day, and were yet to join B&B, and now will. I spoke to them to find out swim conditions with was smelly 2, viz 3.
Sun is out, blue skies, flat sea in CTB, nice dip in Shelly then sit and cheer on the ultra runners coming past for the finish after tackling North Head. Impressive athletes.
