07/09/2011 – Spring Is In The Step

September 7, 201113

46 ‘ticked’ Bold & Beautiful swimmers.

I don’t know about spring being in the air, but it was certainly in ‘the step’ this morning as we entered the water – it definitely had that wake-up freshness to it this morning !

A stunningly clear swim though with lots of pretty plankton and loads of fish including a really dark coloured Port Jackson, which Anita said was just beautiful.

Thankfully there were no Blueys but Claire was bearing her war wound from yesterday’s sting along with homebaked delicious muffins – thanks Claire !! Not sure that was a wise move though as ‘team BB’ may find themselves wishing you more stings if they get rewarded afterwards with such delights… 😉

James Goins and John Masters did a bonus early lap enjoying a rogue wave and a magical sunrise 🙂

Some very exciting news for B&B…
I feel very priveledged to have been nominated (not only once but thrice) for an Eco Tourism Award for Bold & Beautiful.
How exciting is that for us !!

The award ceremony is this Friday from 5-7pm at ICMS, good luck everyone 🙂

Iain channel champion McGregor flies in today !! So don’t forget our heros welcome swim for him tomorrow morning, plus to help prevent him from getting jet lag we are going to ensure he doesn’t go to bed too early by buying him a beer or 2 at our home base, Manly Wine this evening from 7.30pm. Please feel free to join us, it would be great to see you all there !!

Thanks to Stephen Coulter and James Goins for today’s great photos. You will notice two photos at Shelly; one of which Stephen is photographing James photographing us… make sense ? 🙂

Another on tour photo to make us jealous… Michelle Harris enjoying a beautiful sunset in Kas and Michael Appleby enjoying Deb’s cruise on Deb’s birthday…  Happy Birthday to Debbie van Otter Hanson 🙂

Water Temperature 17.5 degrees.
Air Temperature 14 degrees.
Sunrise 6.06am.
Sunset 5.41pm.
Low Tide: 9.57am.
High Tide: 4.38pm.

    Jules –
    Congrats on the nomination.
As you are always so quick to recognise the achievements of others, you are certainly worthy of some limelight yourself. These are such great times for the BNB.
    Enjoy the night.

Welcome back! Did you avoid the paparazzi, groupies and girls in pink caps at the airport?

Congratulations on your nomination Jules, fingers crossed for Friday night. Welcome back Iain, enjoy Manly Wine and Thursdays swim.
You still look beautiful Claire, even with your bluebottle sting!!!
Can’t swim tomorrow, will be at Rock Eisteddfod with Stella Maris; Little Cub (Amy) has one of the lead roles. I’ll be braiding hair and doing make-up for most of the day. Go Stella !!!
    Hopefully will swim Friday.
    Happy B’day Deb.

Yeah Jules! Go get’em! Fantastic news! Do they realise just how far B&B has spread….how many countries/continents now? Is there an Antarctic division?
Tomorrow we celebrate Hazel’s wonderful life and her kindness and spirit – and Vicks Vaporub presents…
