07/01/2012 – Magic Millions !

January 7, 201212

Over 222 Bold & Beautiful swimmers !

Super, Stunning, Magnificent, Magical, Perfect, Idyllic, Heavenly, Absolutely Fabulous are just some of the things to say about today’s swim.

Oh my gosh it was divine.  The sun was shining, the water was crystal clear, warm and flat and there were smiling faces everywhere.  Which is hardly surprising, after all where else would you rather be at 7 o’clock, especially on a morning like today.  It was by far the nicest swim so far this summer.

No wonder it’s our biggest turnout ever !!!  (Not including Australia Day which is coming up soon…  newsletter coming soon with more details… if you don’t get the newsletters please feel free to sign up here)

The 38 swimmers who continued on for the 6km swim were certainly rewarded with an outstanding swim the whole way.  The water was pristine and the sea grass off Queensie headland was glowing a fluorescent green.

What’s left to say… if you weren’t there you should have been 😉

It was great to see so many people completing the 6km for the first time, including Tony Stuart who found himself having finished it without realising he was even going to start… and having never swum more than 1.5kms before.  Fantastic effort everyone !!!

A superb swim with a terrific atmosphere.  A pleasure that should be enjoyed by all 😉  What a great way to start the Sydney Festival, it should have been registered as an activity…

To see who swam the 6km today please click here… they are the ones with Superman 6′ status icon next to their name 😉

If you swam or if you know someone who swam but their name isn’t on today’s attendance please let us know so they can be included in our new record !!

You can check out who swam each day by clicking on the attendance graph icon to the left of the blog, it’s a really useful way to learn your new friend’s names too.

Ben, Gaetan and Richard Agius set off extra early so they could enjoy two trips to Freshie this morning, which saw Ben and
Gaetan each swim 10.5kms before breakfast.

Brendan, Collie, Claudia, Darren, Miles and ??? enjoyed an early Bolderdash.  Brendan and Collie continued on for the 6km so they clocked up 9kms each.  Go the distance demons ! 🙂

If you can’t get to tick your name off before the swim please try to do it after the swim, as it’s really cool to know who and how many people swam each day… thank you.  Not to mention that your swims then count towards our Pacific Challenge too… 🙂

Manly Fishos are hosting a fundraising movie night this Tuesday from 7pm.  Tickets are only $10.

Divine swim. Just gotta love those rays of sunshine hitting the ocean floor. So very warm in the water, might have to strip down tomorrow.

    I keep forgetting to mention…
One of our swimmers found a large faced digital waterproof watch with a velcro strap in the ocean a couple of mornings ago.
Does it belong to anyone of us ??

Hi Sam! Still keen for a Bolderdash tomorrow??
It will be sunny and a low swell but it will come from the north east as will the wind at about 30kph. Sea temp will probably be about 22c.
Probably not too bad! Yell out if you’re keen.
