130 Bold & Beautiful swimmers.
14 people enjoyed an early Bolderdash including the 3 distance daemons who literally bolted over to Freshie, apparently the swim back wasn’t quite so speedy.
The seas are so calm and peaceful after last night’s storm, with lots of marine life to enjoy in bath-like water temperatures and great visibility most of the way.
Stingrays, dusky whalers, catfish, groupers and the like, they were all out to play today.
A lovely photo of Dave at the start, Beth, Stephen and Jane en-route and Sandy playing with the stingarees just off the beach to finish 🙂
With these conditions it should be great for the 6km Summer Badge swim tomorrow. For anyone who’s keen… we continue on up to Freshie and back after the 7am swim. We have regular float stops along the way to re-group so feel free to join in.
It was very quiet yesterday… is anyone out there ?? 😉
Cindy Goode Milman is an artist who captures ocean swimmers. Rumour has it she has even painted one of our swimmers; Elaine de Jager. Cindy’s opening night is from 6pm tonight at Avalon Rec Centre. Everyone is welcome.

It should be GREAT conditions for tomorrow’s 6km swim!! The swell will remain from the south but will halve in size from 2m today down to a metre tomorrow.
So there should be virtually no detectable swell at Manly and very little to the north.
The wind will drop from 45kph today to a mere 5kph tomorrow and will turn around from the south to nor west. So again it should produce beautiful conditions.
The sea temperature today was 23.4c and the offshore buoy is showing similar readings.
As well as this it is predicted to be SUNNY!!
Sounds like it will be the perfect day for it. (That is as long as they don’t change the predictions overnight.)

Cool pic of Sandy!
It was indeed the clearest I have seen in months this morning! And so warm, the only thing missing was the sun.
Iain suggested we should make the most of the great conditions with a warm up swim to Freshie tomorrow morning (5:35 start, we should be back at 7) , followed by the 6km, which would then make it 10km.
Ben and I were interested, Brendan might do a 5:50 and we’ll meet up at QC in the way back.

Has anyone noticed on the World Swim, that we as a group since June, have swum right across the Pacific Ocean, into the Atlantic and up between Africa and America and have actually BEEN TO LONDON.
We are now on the way back and are halfway down the channel to head off into the Atlantic Ocean again and round the Cape of Good Hope to the Indian Ocean and Back to good ol’ OZ. That’s pretty darn amazing I reckon.

Hi Sam, I’d like to think I would be…. however the swell will rise and turn around to the NE along with a wind also NE. So it may not be all that great. Have a look at conditions tomorrow afternoon and decide then.

Also Michael,as a group since June and as of today,we have swum the equivalent of approximately 59.2% of the distance of the Earth’s equator. How impressive is that?
