06/09/2015 Happy Fathers Day

September 6, 20159

What a day to celebrate Fathers Day …..

The clouds were a little stormy, but thankfully we didn’t see any rain.

Lots of frivolity down at B&B Central. Although, 147 swimmers joined us I suspect a few Dads were enjoying breakfast in bed.

The group as sponsored by Aldi.

The team as sponsored by B&B Hoodies.

Gorgeous Millie brought Dad Brad down to make sure he didn’t miss out on his swim.

There were a few more swimmers getting out of the water at the 7am changeover, lots of giggles and some fun conversations……

Quotes like “It’s ugly out there”

“It’s hard to get my swimsuit back on”

“I had a head on, and it wasn’t pretty”

Yep the final solstice nudie swim took place at 6:20am. For some reason, there are no photos of the actual swim. Here are the swimmers before their swim

WARNING: THIS NEXT PHOTO MAY HARM EYESIGHT – DO NOT READ ANY FURTHER WHILE EATING.

….and then this happened $&$$##!? This is a family show!!

The Drinky Express was a team of one today!

Some early swimmers posed (speedos pulled on to protect their identity)

Great Funkita swimsuit (apparently v hard to put back on in the water)

Some of the Solstice swimmers returning (zoom in to see the adjustments being made to swimwear as they hit the beach)

Back to the 7am crowd, and we had 3 newbies join us today.

Yep – we do swim in open water.

As it Father’s Day, the men were given a 10 second head start at The Point, and again at Shelly.

The men head off…..as the women count down …..

…and then the women head.

As the clouds descend upon us.

But not before we celebrate Peta’s upcoming birthday on Tuesday with delightful cake!

Hahaha funny blog Snorkles! I was behind that butt swimming over to Shelly, (didn’t like to overtake!) You forgot to mention the great badge us skinny swimmers got. Well done Roger for the design. There will be some badge envy with that one. Happy Father’s Day!
