05/09/2015 – Swimmers are Grinners :-)

September 5, 20158

A glorious swim for the first Saturday of Spring!

We had a big turn  with at least 200 swimmers, 6 newbies and the water temp was 18 degrees. Lainey here filling in for Anna Banana who is sick. Good morning everyone!

The sun rose at 6.07am in Mantown…

The Drinks Express now depart in daylight! Remember the 3rd nude solstice swim is tomorrow at 6.20am! (For those that haven’t done it before you only have to swim naked. You take off your cossie in the water.) Come and join us!

Cabbage Tree Bay with the first ripples of early swimmers.

Roger collects ladies telephone numbers under the guise of selling raffle tickets for Royal Far West. Belinda is suspicious…

We can’t go down the ramp today as one of the ‘Old and Bolds’ had an accident and the ambulance is there. I haven’t heard the latest but JK said he hurt his neck but could move everything and talk so he was deemed to be Ok so far. We wish him well.

A huge crowd at Shelly today!

It’s Peta’s birthday on Tuesday but she’ll be working so today is her birthday swim.

We sing Happy Birthday to Peta and Kerry and wake up the residents of Bower Street once again!

 Shelly shows us his boobs!

 Lots of Mullet  today!

A vey bad underwater shot. (I forgot u/water setting) but these blog tarts do their best!

Coming back around the point a few of us spot a beautiful Numbfish swimming beneath us…

Brian has a closer look.

Richard and his friends swam a ‘Belly’ (a Queenscliffe/Shelly swim) and we meet them on the way in.

‘Poppy’ sporting his Bold & Beautiful vest.

The first Bedouin desert dweller to swim with us. Unfortunately her camel wasn’t allowed near the beach.

Meanwhile Roger continues to collect telephone numbers…

Two gorgeous ladies ageing fearlessly, Karen and Anna.

Another dog for our blog reading dog lovers

Smiles at the post-swim benches. Come and join us!

A few photos from earlier in the week…

There have been lots of Port Jacksons around lately.

 Who can guess the mermaid?

Thanks Lainey for the atmospheric report, I feel I know exactly how the swim went today even though I’m in Canberra this weekend. The whale shot is certainly unique and worth repeating. It was an extra special day for me because it occurred just after I retired.

Lainey, once again, a beautiful action packe, fun filled blog. Don’t tell Roger or Shelley Beach, but I love your blogs just as much. In fact every blog is enjoyed and appreciated. You all have such an individual style and highlight the joys of the morning swim in your own unique ways. Thank you.
