Legends of BNB – Sunday 12/8/2018

Much discussion this morning about who was the Biggest Legend at BNB during Winter?

There are many variables… levels within levels. for example: Even amongst the wetsuit wears there are levels of legendary – unbelievable as it is …so I have put together a list:  Levels of Legend-Legend, with a points system – ie, everyone starts at ZERO and goes up or minus a point depending on The Legend status of each category:

 

• Turning up at All in Winter +1
• Wearing a wetsuit (WAW) -1
• Not wearing a wetsuit (NWAW) +1
• WAW and having a hot shower in the club after -1
• WAW and having a cold shower +1
• NWAW and having a hot showing in the club -1
• NWAW and having a cold shower +1
• NWAW doing 2 or more laps +3
• WAW doing 2 or more laps +1
• NWAW and wearing thongs +1
• WAW and wearing thongs +.05
• NWAW and wearing shorts AND thongs +1
• NWAW getting stung by a jimble and not complaining about it +1
• WAW getting stung on the toenail by a jimble and complaining about it -1
• WAW getting stung by a jimble in the face +1
• NWAW for 20 swims then putting a wetsuit back on for the rest of winter -3

 

It was unanimous though Fi D was the Biggest Legend of all not only does she swim WAW she did 4 laps starting at 5.30am in the dark and had a cold shower afterwards!

Lips wanting in on the act – he loses points for going in the club afterwards for a shower …although he did say he only had a ‘cold’ shower as he didn’t have 20 cents .. waawaa 

…but he gains a point for wearing thongs.. +1

Monthly Dinner – 14^th August 2018 – Guest Speaker

The next B&B monthly dinner for the year will be held on Tuesday 14th August at 6.30 pm at Bluewater Restaurant. 

Our guest speaker on the night will be B&B swimmer, Brendan Maher. 

Brendan, who describes himself as a very average swimmer, managed to overcome a chronic shoulder injury and swim the English Channel in July 2017.

He will speak of his motivation, training for the swim, and what it’s like for the average swimmer to attempt a marathon swim. This talk will be an inspiration to all of us who count ourselves in the ‘B Team’ (or even the Zeds!).

The cost of the dinner is great value at only $25 a head, which includes shared entrees, and a selection of mains to choose from (including a vegetarian option).
