xeno – n. the smallest measurable unit of human connection, typically exchanged between passing strangers—a flirtatious glance, a sympathetic nod, a shared laugh about some odd coincidence—moments that are fleeting and random but still contain powerful emotional nutrients that can alleviate the symptoms of feeling alone.
Getting the best of the day before the storm rolls in this arvo.
WOW! – ready for a swim
These girls summer routines are getting back into swing as they get back into the ocean
Fiddler ray was the second most exciting spot but the most photogenic sea creature of the morning
Jon and Sarah kicking off their 37th wedding anniversary with a swim together today. Congratulations guys 🙂
Inge still wearing her signature beanie well into November. If you haven’t seen Inge from up close, her headwear is actually beanie-visor-beanie. Well insulated! Perhaps she should enter the Alice Springs Beanie Festival next year. She is currently training for a 9km swim around Lake Burley Griffin in December.
Friendships forged by devon. Poor Benji has an ear infection so wasn’t lying by the bench today – a good rest for everyone else’s ears I think.
Fi and Mel bonding over their sighting of a seal this morning. We were told it was feeding on some fish near the yellow boatshed before James ran into it. Luckily this time no-one’s ankle was bitten.
How many opportunities for connection do we miss every day by not looking up at people all around us?

I knew you’d make a great blogger, Murray and like your emphasis on connecting with those around us!
Followed the swim with a lovely walk up to Barranjoey lighthouse – very quiet on a rainy, mid-week morning.

Great job Murray on your first blog. Like your theme to consider and Manly early morning is the place to connect with like-minded people. Isn’t Inge a legend? Wonder when her beanie will come off? Lucky Fi and Mel spotting seal! Hope you can blog every other Wednesday Murray.

I like the new lens Murray. It makes the wrinkles disappear. Hey and Murray don’t forget you too are in training for the 9K Lake Burley Griffin swim!
A bit late but congratulations to John and Sarah for the 37th wedding anniversary!

Fantastic blog Murray. Xeno is now one of my favourite words. I constantly have the feeling and now to have a word for it is wonderful.
