This morning I wondered if we had given the hard drives enough time to spin down, for chips to cool off and ready themselves for the myriad of potential that is 2018. After a great few days swimming in offline mode, I did see a few regulars with their usual workday strip ready for the first day back and the requisite longer gait as they headed off for the Ferry.
For those wondering what the week holds, we are looking at similar conditions for the next few days with a little more southerly swell up to 1/2 a metre by Wednesday but then a smackdown in a North Easter over the following days that will see just about no swell of any kind to speak of for the rest of the week. I expect Thursday may be the clearest visibility wise as the winds turn.
You probably are aware that we have just had a super moon which has lifted the high tide a notch so this morning did require some extra effort. Despite this the la, ger B&B crew were out to play today.
Quite a few newbies this morning so middle management was on high alert, and look at that temperature. Sensational.
Once again the bay was awash with pink.
Alas, there was some gloom below decks but occasional patches of clarity.
Shelly was on the busy side but lots of space in the back rows.
Very enjoyable return with light tail winds and lots of clearance at the point given the high tide.
Gayle Mcknight with a big smile after a PB for the return leg. She is getting very fit with a pre-swim boot camp routine that put the keenest to shame.
And Ted and Elaine with the Rels Rene and Marga relegated to a new routine of early swims and loving it.
Breakfast at Bluewater retains the 2018 title for best value, quality and amazing service with every waitperson trained in facial recognition even if they haven’t seen you and order memorising. Breakfast always arrives despite no numbers or identifiers of any kind.
May your 2018 be filled with everything your heart desires. To all those back at work already, may your days be productive and rewarding and your swims remain with you for all of your day.
Have a great week people.
Brian

Great Blog Brian so much fun looking at all the photos.
Loved the swim today but managed to pick up the wrong hoodie. Mine is brand new and I picked up an older one. If you have mine please bring it tomorrow and I’ll leave this one at the main B&B table.
Thanks in advance x
