138 Bold & Beautiful swimmers.
Enjoyed yet another picture perfect morning, with a beautiful day and stunningly clear, warm water. It’s a good job swimming is free ‘cos you just can’t put a price on these mornings.

It’s amazing what a week of beautiful days and special visits from an array of magnificent marine life does. It’s just fantastic to see so many people swimming.

Tony even went out an bought a new wetsuit especially… love it Tony 🙂

You just can’t help but smile

The bay was simply an over flowing aquarium this morning. Magic !
With 3 Port Jackson Sharks all photographed below, including one of Simon’s photos of me photographing the PJ 😉

A lovely big school of Old Wives

A huge school of Yellowtail Scad

A Yellow Catfish playing hide and seek

Big Blue and Southern Brown Gropers

Two cuttlefish which I didn’t manage to capture on camera today, plus a whole range of other beautiful things from fish, to shells, jellies, catching up with friends and the reward of the personal hot water bottle shower in the sun afterwards taken by Alyson and cuddles at brekkie taken by Elaine.

Plus check out Lindsay, the beautiful bride to be today !! Lindsay swam a double lap this morning along with 14 others. Have a wonderful day today Lindsay and Richard 🙂

A couple more great photos from this morning courtesy of Simon

Collie successfully finished his fantastic 30km swim yesterday in under 12 hours with fabulous support from great friends and fellow B&B swimmers including Alex, Ben, James, John, Michael, Nicole and Iain who accompanied Collie for the whole 30km !!
Plenty of other B&B swimmers popped down throughout the day to show their support and help keep morale high, for which they were very grateful.
Fantastic effort Collie and co. very well done !! Next stop France 🙂

It is with sadness that I also let you know the sad news that Peter Bowes’ Mum passed away yesterday. Our thoughts are with Peter, Sheri and their family and friends at this time xx

Feels so great to be back in the water after back surgery! Thanks to all who have welcomed me back, watched out for me and helped with things like stepping up the mini-sandbank at Halfway Beach, getting my wetsuit off over my feet and reminding me where I left my walking stick!

Well done Collie and Ben. Seeing you go all day from 5.50am has removed whatever vestige of desire I ever had to swim the channel.
What a tremendous effort both of you and also of course Iain. Is there to be a repeat performance next Saturday??

What beautiful morning, and what lovely lovely photos. It has been just great to see that very special blue groper every day, he is such a gorgeous colour. The other groper looks interesting too, but Big Blue just has that irrestistible blue glow. How lucky to be able to have all this recorded for us, Jules and other camera-folk! Thank you!

Thanks to all for rolling out the red carpet and giving me a 5 star swim on Saturday. Conditions perfect, help impeccable.
James the tent worked a treat for sighting which end of Shelley to swim to, Iain for shark wrangling tricks, John, Michael, Ben, Nicole, B&B, Alex, James, Peta, and the other pick caps that popped up during the day. I also felt Brendan was there in spirit.
The agenda was to start at 5.50 and finish at 5.30- 11 hrs 40 mins was the target. (Not allowing for photos, chats, playing with sharks,an extra short trip to the Bower and back, and the regular bold and Beautiful wait at Shelley beach. Despite all this we started at 6.00 on the dot and finished at 5.00 virtual on the dot. The conditions where so perfect we smashed it. 11.00 neat. Distance 30-34 km???
Although it is rather disturbing to see Alex swimming and grinning like a Cheshire cat at 3.30 pm, when a man that lean in cold water has a smile that big on his face, and knowing Alex. You can pretty well guarantee he is up to no good or playing silly buggers. But it was not to be.
