81 Bold & Beautiful swimmers
escaped the pull of the doona this morning to face a wild and woolly journey to swimming with seriously blustery winds creating a monstrous southerly swell… but as you can see it’s totally passing us by in our little sheltered corner 🙂

It’s probably one of the few places on the East Coast of Australia where you can actually swim today, yep, pretty happy about that 🙂 How lucky are we !

Conditions were so unusual this morning, Andrew could actually stand at the point !

and everyone was actually gathered together right at the point. Now that’s very exciting, it’s made my month 😉

It was a lovely calm swim across the bay, despite the blanket of jimbles…

With nearly everyone facing the armada for the swim back too.
The strong wind did make the swim back to shore seem a little further than usual, kind of like swimming on a treadmill, going nowhere fast. But, happy to have been a part of it as always 🙂

I guess the poor marine life get a tough time in these rugged conditions too, like this dead crayfish rolling around on the ocean floor 🙁

4 swimmers obviously didn’t mind the wake up call from all the jimbles as they ‘enjoyed’ a double lap and Alex, Ben and James have ventured out for a double lap of Freshie. Great English Channel training conditions today that’s for sure 😉
As a reminder, 2 of our swimmers, Sam Evans and Brendon Quinn, along with 2 other work colleagues are heading to the Northern Territory next weekend to walk 80km on the Larapinta Trail to raise money for the Australian Cancer Research Foundation.
Please feel free visit their fundraising site and wish them luck by donating and leaving them a message if you would like, every dollar is greatly appreciated by this great cause.
See you all in the morning, it’s worth making that little extra effort on these wintry mornings, you know you never regret it when you do…

I take full responsibility for the Jimble Onslaught this morning!! If it makes you all feel better – I was surrounded by 10,000 of them at one point and a lot were about 2 feet long ..gulp..they were after my blood after my taunts on wednesday’s blog!! hee hee…Still it was lovely in the water despite them…so clear and invigorating!

Just let me know when the Jimbles go!
I got loads of stings the other day. I don’t know how I got two inside my rash vest – crafty little things 🙂

I was quite looking forward to a stormy swim, but seems I have an inflamed tendon in my shoulder and was told to have a rest day. Sounds like I escaped our pink friends since I am such a jimble magnet.
