21/09/15 – Turn the Tide

21/09/20152

History has shown time and time again, any one individual possesses enough energy to turn the tide.  Those who have made a difference possess no more than you, no more than any of us.

But nothing is affected by the amount of energy we possess, it is by the energy we express.  This modern world conspires to limit this expression.  Our energy becomes bound up in fear, distracted by false desire and fooled into thinking we must dissociate from how we feel.

Look up from your smartphone and feel the tide begin to turn…
Who are you?  What have you got to give?  How are you going to give it?

B&B Special Event – Geremy Cliff (shark expert at Natal Sharks Board, SA)

As head scientist at the Natal Sharks Board in Durban, South Africa, Geremy Cliff runs the South Africa’s shark attack file, where his duty is to archive all shark attacks on humans. His work also broaches the ecological impact of the shark netting program on populations of sharks and other marine species. Geremy is coming to Australia at the request of the NSW Government to attend the NSW DPI Shark Summit, and has agreed to give a private lecture to B&B members and friends on Monday 28th September at 7.00 pm at the Balgowlah RSL. Don’t miss this one off opportunity to hear a world expert on sharks and shark attacks. Geremy’s lecture is titled:

“Sharing the sharks’ ocean: some personal perspectives after 35 years of shark research”

Entry fee for the lecture is $10 pp to cover room hire. The bar will be open for drinks, and the bistro is open from 5.30 pm for meals. All welcome, but please email Ian to reserve your place (ugoboyo@gmail.com).

Staying safe
Remember that there are no badges for scaring yourself silly! While it is great to extend your boundaries, it is important to know your limits.  Also, if you have a bit more experience, keep an eye out for new swimmers who might need company. Kiera Murphy mentioned on the BnB facebook page that she left a bold and beautiful cap, black goggles and Dafin white and turquoise flippers in the women’s changing room. If anyone has found these items please comment here or on the BnB facebook page.
    Thanks.

Andrew I think Nicola has them. She checked if any of us owned them
and I seem to remember the pretty flippers.
