Good Morning Manly!
Management reported 350 swimmers this morning, including 10 newbies. Water temperature was a balmy 23.8 degrees. Personally, I think it felt warmer. <insert gratuitous toilet humour here>
Today was all about Ian (aka Santa), who celebrated his 97th birthday AND completed his 1000 km with the Bold & Beautiful swim squad:
If you are after Mardi Gras coverage, please refer to my 2014 report – nothing much has changed over the past three years:

Short blog today as I have family commitments and (once again) technical issues. The blog camera is filled to the brim with outrageous footage. Sadly, I used internal camera storage and I don’t have the necessary cable to retrieve the photos for the blog. I blame Upper Middle Management for not supplying the necessary cable.
Luckily, lovely Edwina was there to save the day – providing the Top 5 photos of the morning..
Photo #1 – Random shenanigans at Shelly:
Photo #2 – Ian returning from his 1000km swim:
Photo #3 – Ian all dressed up and ready to get bottom smacked:

Finally, the stats..
Total Swimmers: 350
Newbies: 10
Water Temp 23.8 degrees (low balled, i reckon..)
Have a great Sunday everyone. Catch a wave. Call a friend. Hug a puppy!

Hello everyone – great to see some of you again yesterday. I thought I’d use this little space to send out a reminder to anyone interested in coming to the Blue Mountains Music Festival. It’s on 17, 18 & 19 March in Katoomba. A fabulous time is guaranteed, with some amazing musicians performing over the weekend!

Haha! Yes, awkward operation to untangle the blog camera from one’s speedos mid swim. Thanks again. You saved the blog Ed!

thanks to everyone for a very enjoyable swim and celebrations afterwards and for your best wishes for me and to those who said kindly that I do not look 97.
Two ‘Let’s go!’ in one swim surpassed my wildest dreams.
I was keen to wear the B&B sash around the Corso for the morning but had to go to a family outing.
Rainer, thanks for your special report and to Edwina for the colourful pictures.
I hope I can get a telegram from the Queen in three years which I would like to coincide with 2,000 km.
