Actually more of a Blog Free day. . .Looks like none of the Saturday bloggers were up for the blog challenge this morning! Hint: there are vacancies in the Saturday line up. . . If you are interested do see JK.
So perhaps we can start with the stats kindly provided by Management:
350 Swimmers
4 Newbies
24.6 degrees
As a blog does need a photo, here is what would have greeted you a year ago.
And to finish, an amusing sign I saw in Italy. I did wonder way everyone was standing in waist deep water and not actually swimming.
Culture Corner
If you are at a loss for something to do, and maybe the wet weather is bringing on a dose of Cabin Fever, check out this exhibition at the MCA.
TATSUO MIYAJIMA
– Connect with Everything
It is an incredibly interesting show. The artist Tatsuo uses a multitude of diodes to create his work. Sadly it does finish tomorrow but well worth the effort.
The other recommendation is Chimerica at Roslyn Packer Theatre. This has just opened and runs till the end of March. It’s a gripping thriller, a touching romance, a cracking comedy and a rich drama. The play is inspired by the iconic image of a lone protester standing before a line of tanks in Tiananmen Square. Who was he? What happened to him? And could he still be alive? Taking an imaginative leap into who the ‘Tank Man’ is, Chimerica is both a globe-trotting drama and a very personal story exploring the complex connections between China and America. Brilliant! And if you can go this week, Lastix has tickets at 40% off.
Monthly Dinner – Chat Night!
The next B&B monthly dinner will be on Tuesday 14th March at 6.30 pm at Bluewater Restaurant. Come along and have a chat with your swimming buddies, or meet new ones. This is always a fun night, so don’t miss out. The cost of the dinner is only $25 a head and includes shared entrees, a selection of mains to choose (incl a vegetarian option) and corkage (for byo wine only). Glasses of beer or wine and desserts are also available at the special price of only $5 each. Numbers are limited, so bookings are essential.
