Monday 3/8/26 IWT 17.5, OWT 12.
A quiet day, with a swirly start, some rolling waves coming in and around the point, with a bumpy swim all the way to Shelly. Viz is pretty good once you get past the sandy wash at the start, but the real delight is beneath. Swimming in this protected marine park is a privilege and I love the experience every time.
I swam with a beautiful calm Port Jackson, a cuttlefish, then a resting PJ on the way back. I couldn’t resist the blue grouper as I was coming back along the point, enjoying riding the swell as I followed it around the rocks.
Swimming in was really more of a workout, more than the bumpy swim, but that nice swell pushes into shore nicely, despite the rip.
Enjoy, well worth braving the gloom, even the Shelly cold was close to shore making the rest quite warm.
Cheers,
Kerrie x
