Saturday 4.08.2018 Escaping TO not FROM

August 4, 20186

Today’s inspiration was this image, that popped up on a search I was doing for work. ( credit for picture quotes ‘bestbeachquotes_facebook’ )

The B&B, and our tribe the Manly Express is my escape from the richness and variety, of life’s ups and downs. I have decided it is an escape to rather than an escape from. And for mine,  it is the Best Escape Anyone Can Have…..

An escape to another world, where people are smiling and bonded by a common passion, there is no judgement or regret, the air is fresh, the sand cold, where the water holds us gently, the sun always rises, and the conditions bring a daily surprise.

Today didn’t disappoint, a brisk, but enjoyable 16.8, a wave just big enough to provide a ride, and some well earned exhilaration on the way into the beach. Our little team of Annie and Marg, were guided by our lovely Roz, with a joyful ‘now Barb!!!’ just the lead, I needed being a ‘respectful of the waves’ style swimmer, i.e. a tad nervy.

Smiling 7am’s ……. heading to the water ……………….and Beautiful, beachgoing besties ready to escape!

7.00am Stragglers, the middle of our trio was excited to be in the blog!!

Annie said in the middle of our treasured bay  ‘ There’s the sun popping through the horizon’!

The only thing competing was Roz’s post swim glow.

It is better to do something than to do nothing ……………..

Thanks to these lovely ladies Cake Stall Managers Lainey and Pauline….. and to all the

terrific bakers and those that purchased the goodies or donated, an amazing team effort…

Being mindful of the our Farmers, as the drought continues is important, to where do they escape?

HAPPY SATURDAY Barb x

PS some of the photos were the work of The Rozanovski, with thanks !

Monthly Dinner – 14th August 2018 – Guest Speaker

The next B&B monthly dinner for the year will be held on Tuesday 14th August at 6.30 pm at Bluewater Restaurant. Our guest speaker on the night will be B&B swimmer, Brendan Maher. Brendan, who describes himself as a very average swimmer, managed to overcome a chronic shoulder injury and swim the English Channel in July 2017. He will speak of his motivation, training for the swim, and what it’s like for the average swimmer to attempt a marathon swim. This talk will be an inspiration to all of us who count ourselves in the ‘B Team’ (or even the Zeds!).

The cost of the dinner is great value at only $25 a head, which includes shared entrees, and a selection of mains to choose from (including a vegetarian option). Glasses of beer or wine and desserts are also available at the special price of only $5 each. Numbers are limited, so bookings are essential:  To avoid disappointment and secure your spot please book HERE.
