26/2011 Bravin’ the Cravin’ for a Wave in.

August 26, 201110

Hello and Happy Friday to one and all. it will be a short blog today because i’ve got lots of work to do.

What a week it’s been.

Today’s blog was going to be called ‘Here comes the sun’  I heard NTB singing it this morning whilst getting changed and the sun was out so it was quite apt. However, after watching the group come back through the waves and RIP despite the half way option I decided the blog needed a more descriptive name.

It is set to be a really nice day tomorrow so if you’ve been putting off that morning dip – don’t. The waters nice, come on in.

Today’s  turnout: 44 swimmers + 1 Newbie

Jules: Julie and Big M have sent a few pics through – They went for a swim at Sheringham. The water temp was 18.5 degrees !! :-). Visibility, there was some,
proof is in the last photo 😉

Beautiful swim this morning, still some curly waves out the back but they are more fun now than dumpy.
Looking forward to some manly to manly swims this weekend instead of the half way option.

Yeah me too Linda. The big waves always look worse when you are looking straight at them! Heading out the sun was blinding me this morning. Wish I had come back in the whole way and not gone to half way…it looked like fun. Water definitely warmer though..wetsuits off everyone I reckon!! 😉

Thanks for a lovely time: my first Bold swim was indeed beautiful. Did a fab but inexpected somersault at the beach courtesy of a good wave…

Lovely swim today. I swam back to halfway beach, so nice to have that option. Nice photos ma & pa, but it does look a tad lonely.
How are all the other ‘Dardanellians’, Double-crosser Dardanellians and Double-trouble Dardanellians going? Keep up the training, can’t wait for the big day. YIPEE!!
Almost forgot, I saw a sea turtle today, it was off the pool, swimming towards the point.
    See y’all tomorrow.

Welcome fifi, I’m sure you’ll very soon become as crazy about regular morning swims as the rest of us 🙂
Many new faces for you, and new names to remember. You can cheat by looking at the Wall of Fame. Click on the photos to see people’s names.

Watch out Turkey B&B have landed !
Very excited to report that 11 of the 12 B&B Dardanelles team have arrived safely and are in fantastic spiritis in Istanbul.
Rosemary joins us tomorrow to make the full team 🙂
Vicki and Mahdi have been swimming their way around Eurpoe, in fact Mahdi even dragged Vicki into a 50m pool in Budapest for some training yesterday, but alas, apparently we’re not allowed to mention ‘the swim’, so there has been lots of talk about ‘the race’ !! Go figure, I reckon that sounds much more daunting 😉
After the long flight for most of the guys today rehydrating was a high priority for this evening… Rest assured everyone has retired early, very well hydrated !! 😉
Great training for our elite international touring team – yikes ! xx

Great to hear you’re nearly all there. Looking forward to hearing more news and seeing on tour bonding photos. Make sure Izzi get out a bit and her shy and retiring nature doesn’t keep her locked up inside by herself too much!
