53 swimmers,
As the blog title says, Its getting better but there are still some curly ones rolling in. According to Miss Goodwin “The RIP is Massive”
Visibility is good, but not so good that anyone could see Nick TB – Maybe because he didn’t turn up with his thermometer (Tut Tut ) That means there was no-one to take the temperature this morning so lets say it was…quite nice and almost warm. Dr Nick – see you tomorrow, Ill even make an appearance myself.
The word in the water was “ cake” A few swimmers were going to Manly wine to have a sugar and caffine breakfast (cake and coffee) in celebration and anticipation of the imminent Dardanelles trip. ( they leave today) Good luck Dardanellians. May the force and the tides be with you.
(Long time swimmers, firt time badge owners) Anita keelan did her 20th swim today, we know this because she wrote it on the tick sheet! Deb Hanson also got her 20th swim in today. It’s a proud and satisfying moment when you know you can stay in bed for the rest of winter if you want to because the badge is already in the bag.
It’s supposed to be a ripper of a day today (22 degrees in Man town). For all you lucky people that don’t work or do work by the beach – enjoy. For everyone else that works in an office or somewhere just as exciting – take a look out the window and smile. You’ll be back in the ocean tomorrow at 7am and summer is on its way. I promise.
Fact of the day: Kangaroos are great swimmers – better than Boy Michel apparently!
Don’t believe me? See for yourself:

Song for Iain- What are mates for- I cleaned it up few times before posting this. Erid Idle sends his best.
Iain; I’m a Channel Swimmer and I’m okay, I swim all night and I swim all day.
Bold and Beautiful; He’s a Channel Swimmer and he’s okay, he swims all night and he swims all day.
Iain; I cut down waves, I eat my lunch, I go to the lavatory. On Saturday I treaded water, and had buttered scones for tea.
Bold and Beautiful; He cuts down waves, he eats his lunch, he goes to the lavatory. On Saturday he treaded water, and had buttered scones for tea.
Iain; I’m a Channel Swimmer and I’m okay,I swims all night and I swims all day. I cut down waves, I splash and kick, I like to be covered in grease. I put on Pink undies, and hang around in Dover bars

Good Luck Dardanelles Swimmers,
Looks like I’ll not be making it over but I do have a good excuse.

Thanks Collie,
The pink undies are immortalized over here as the swimmers from South Africa said:
“We drove past about 3 different swimmers and had no idea who anyone was except when we saw these bright pink swimmers and laughed and tooted saying that’s Iain”
Looking forward to hearing about how the power of pink makes a splash in the Dardanelles!
