26/10/2016 – Happy Hump Day :-)

October 26, 20165

Gorgeous sunrise in our favourite corner of the world at 5.59am this morning…Sorry for the late and simple blog today but had a late call to work.

Around 40 Drinks Expressers set off at 6.30am and early swimmers reported warmer water and a jimble-free swim!

Nicky brings along Dan from Kent for his first B&B swim!

Another newbie, who’s name I’ve forgotten joins in a photo with Jarrod and mate.

7am and time to roll. The water wasn’t making anyone squeal with cold today for a change!  Georgina and Anne in their bright cozzies and pink flippers, are happy that the water is now a warm 19.6 degrees!

It’s always lovely to see Jeff with a J and his boyish grin!

A few waves as we get in but nothing like the big surf at other beaches.

Met these three at The Point. I think they said their names were Dan, Jez and Stu and they are ‘single and ready to mingle’!

Two of these lovely ladies are also SARTM 😉

All the attention at Shelly was around a certain little lady’s birthday who loved being sang to and called the ‘Let’s Go!’

That’s it for today, a few underwater pics from last couple of weeks when water clearer

Great blog and no need to ever apologise.
Us “out of towners” take great solace in knowing you are all as active as ever, photo-bombing, blog tarting, being camera conscious and ….. swimming !
We are still joined at the hip with you all at the wonderful creation of Jules and her close friends that has grown beyond their wildest dreams.
Seeing the group expression of love and warm embrace of Ed in his final days was an outward manifestation of our daily chumminess and frivolity …… and we know it meant the world to Ed and his family.
For us all ….its one reason to get get out of bed in the morning. No one has ever regretted a swim, but many have regretted not swimming.
“If a clod be washed away by the sea, Europe is the less,
as well as if a promontory were,
as well as if a manor of thy friend’s
    or of thine own were:
    any man’s death diminishes me,
because I am involved in mankind,
and therefore never send to know
    for whom the bells tolls;
    it tolls for thee”
I will be going to a celebration of Ed’s life at 1:15pm this Friday at the North Chapel, Northern Suburbs Crematorium
…put “199 Delhi Road” into your GPS ….join me there ?
