450 merry B&B’ers turned up today, to share their Christmas morning swimming side by side.
Rather than waffle on, I’ll let the photos and the happy smiles do the talking.
Shaun -I promised the blog would be about you today….but I’m going to keep it to the one photo.
Members of the A team join the Christmas fun
Budgy Smuggler’s calendar shot perhaps?
Many swimmers were seen in their Christmas outfits – even great to see Christmas edition Budgy Smugglers!
Its lovely to see my friends join the Christmas day swim – even when their partners question “We’re going where and doing what at 7am Christmas morning?” Present opening can wait!
So many people at Shelly beach today
Sarah and one of her sons and her latest shark resistant swimsuit “It’s Valerie Taylor’s you know”.If anyone knows of Valerie and her shark enocunters, they’ll know that Sarah was very safe today.
Sarah joined by some of our lovely regulars.
It was so lovely to see so many families coming down to swim today.
We are famous! Santa’s official photographer taking photos of us. You know how the Great Barrier Reef can be seen in space, maybe the 7am B&B swimmers can be seen by Santa???
Lovely Lainey can always be counted on for a smile, a hug, and some great nibbles!
More swim families.
Twinning!!! I found some more Ugly Rashie wearers!! NB: WE are not ugly, the rashies are called that!
There were a few waves getting in. Please if you are not sure, do not go in or walk round to Half Way and check out the Half Way option (My preferred option). Plenty of people today took the Half Way option where it was easier to get in and meet everyone else at Shelly.
Some great sports even managed to swim in their Santa outfits!
Shelly was basked in sun and fun!
I found Santa’s swim reindeers’.
B&B fave couple Ted & Lainey. Lovely seeing these two on Christmas day.
…..Santa’s reindeers were last seen heading into the sea and swimming north to help him post presents in the northern hemisphere……
water temperature of 21 degrees, and 38 newbies joined us on this special day. Merry Christmas to one and all. Enjoy your day and hug your loved ones tight!

Great happy day and well captured Snorkles
I got as far as The Point just after 7am and was battling big surf, a friendly woman’s voice asked, “Are you OK ?”
I was OK, so found myself talking to a fellow Scot, she is from Inverness, but as the sun was behind her I couldn’t see her face. Thank you for caring ! Identify yourself and let me buy you a coffee ?
.
I felt every bit the ‘Central Coast Out Of Towner’ I now am so thought best to head back to the beach, got dumped a couple of times and as I popped up in waist deep water a friendly male voice asked, “Are you OK ?” Thank you for caring !
.
Justus bought me a Bacon&Sausage Roll, John Lehmann conjured up a Double Strength Coffee and Shelley K offered me her delicious home made fruit cake.
I have to say I felt all loved up and squishy inside.
Lots of hugs and kisses and inclusiveness, B&B is GREAT !!!

Loved your blog Snorkles, thanks for capturing all the crazy of the day…reindeer, rashies, sexy Santas and Sarah B in a class of her own. And thanks for including me and my two baby Vikings who were emotionally strong-armed into their first swim. Excellent Chrissy!
