Thought I’d open up with some bottoms for a change! Guess them if you dare, in comments at bottom of blog! Conditions were back to calm and virtually stinger -free today after a chaotic few days with swimmers going in all directions to avoid the bluebottles and swell! Around 280 of us swam today in 20.6 degree water… The sky was dreary but it was anything but dull, in our little corner…
Around 50 early swimmers head out at 6.30am
A short while after, the 7amers start to arrive. There were 8 newbies today and Kathy on the left is one of them. She usually does a big ocean swim event at Newcastle on Australia Day but it’s cancelled so comes down to swim with us. Tomorrow we’re expecting a record number of swimmers. I swam with the B&B for the first time 6 years ago tomorrow. Dawn Fraser came along and there were 600 swimmers that day. Wonder if we’ll have that many tomorrow…
Jo and Janet bring a friend along!
Lisa and Bryon are excited about an upcoming trip we are organising exploring ‘the real, unspoilt Bali’ where you can snorkel amongst tropical fish from the beach. The water here was a little clearer today but not so many fish as we usually see…
Here they are again. Lisa is such a special person and her warm, genuine greeting and smile every morning is worth coming down for let alone everything else! A friend Toni, once described coming down to the B&B swim as being like on the receiving end of a huge hug!
Lesbubbs puts on her prettiest face for a blog photo again 😉
Scotty and friends
Tim with his brother and of course Lips the photo bomber in background!
Merrilee and Sparkles
Mike Stacey gets in before Lips for a great photo bomb!
Belinda, Lisa, Georgina and Robyn, some of the gorgeous ‘Women of the Wall’ (WOWS)
What do all of these ladies have in common? They each have set up their own business which enrich the lives of their clients enormously, they are speedy swimmers with hot bods and are always so positive, warm and gracious 🙂
Rough and tumble with Merrilee’s dog. Panda photobombs!
What a cute couple, Edwina and Ted 😉
Not Cabbage Tree Bay this time folks… Photos I took just swimming/snorkelling off from the beach in Amed, East Bali. See me for details about the 5 day ‘Beyond Bogan Bali’ Tour in June!
Enjoy the cooler weather folks and see you tomorrow!

AUSTRALIA DAY – this Thursday
As usual, Australia Day will be HUGE. Please try to arrive early and wait on the beach if possible to avoid congestion on the walkway. There will be a short ceremony on the beach before the swim, so practice your National Anthem!! This year, we are encouraging everyone to wear our national colours/flags or other paraphernalia. It should be an impressive sight. Lost and Found Jumble Sale – Sunday 29th January Due to a lack of storage space, the time has come for us to liquidate all of the lost and found items we have collected over the past 6 years. We have a large array of pre-owned and lost swimming paraphernalia that hasn’t been collected, including: Swimmers Goggles Flippers Snorkels Wetsuits Sunglasses Sought after old-style hoodie and more … These will be sold off at bargain basement prices along with some new swimmers donated by Zoggs. So next Sunday, please bring some spare cash to take advantage of lots of amazing bargains. All proceeds will go towards Heart Research Australia’s I Love Life campaign, which will happen shortly. Watch the blog for details. |

All part of an ongoing media conspiracy against Lesbubs and me. We actually look normal 99% of the time. And our hands are not as small as shown on that photo.

Lainey what a great blog. The fact that it was such a clear, stinger free, relatively warm swim made it so special. I haven’t been able to swim for 7 days so it was lovely to come back down swim across the bay and get a fix of being around all the b&b. You’re right it is just like a big hug. Great photos and very excited about Bali!!!!

Wow, Shelley. All those Trump references. I’m guessing you’re apoplectic with excitement about the new presidency! 🙂
