21/09/2011 – Cabbage Tree Lake…

September 21, 20118

63 ‘ticked’ Bold & Beautiful swimmers.

It was as clear, flat and spectacular as it gets out there this morning. A little cool from the westerly breeze but absolutely magnificent. Sue McGregor said she felt like she was watching a wild life documentary as she was swimming out there this morning.

David Ingham, Aline van Haren and myself saw a turtle !! It was so cute, a beautiful little turtle just resting on the sand. It must have been the same one Midge and Nicolee saw a couple of days ago, let’s hope he has chosen our little bay for his home. Turtles eat blue bottles you know !!

Sue McGregor and Lesley Coulter saw a fish eating what looked like another dead fish and all of a sudden an eel bolted out of nowhere, pinched the dead fish and slid back into it’s hidy whole again !

David Adams, Iain McGregor, James Goins and Roberto Suares did an early Bolderdash and John Bond and Michael Christie enjoyed a double lap.

Some superb photos from James Goins today and to quote James: “So much to choose from today. Flat as for the early run. Cabbage Tree Lake !!!”

James saw this beautiful Port Jackson in about the same spot as the turtle on the way across whilst looking for PJ egg cases in the weeds.

Thanks to Yasmin and Midge for spotting the flattie and pointing it out to James so he could get this great photo for us all.

The tickets for the B&B trivia night have been printed and are now available for purchase courtesy of Linda Goodwin who kindly designed them for us, thank you Linda !! First two tickets sold this morning 🙂

Stephen Coulter has submitted the fact of the day for today which he learnt at the conference he attended this week: “Human Body has 600 muscles. Only 4 activities use them all:
1. Swimming
2. Rowing
3. Push-Ups
4. Sex (if on top)”
Not sure why, but Stephen also felt this extra piece of information would be of interest…
“p.s. an hour of sex uses 400 calories or 26 calories for 2 minutes!”

Check out this lovely on tour photo of Michelle Harris, Mahdi Deaton, Vicki Harbutt and Jalna Horn at dinner at the chateau in Sarlat.

WOW!! What a beautiful morning’s swim. Clear water, Sunny, flat as a pancake. This is really the best of times to swim and it will be the same again tomorrow.
As predicted the temperature did drop a tiny bit to 18.4c, but it should be back up again in a couple of days.
Don’t miss it. Its fabulous at the moment.

Some people think its 18.4c every day, summer and winter!!

I personally blame global warming as one would expect the water temperature to be around 16C at this time of year
