Goooooooooooooooood Morning Manly
First up, our fellow swimmer Iain is SWIMMING TO FRANCE TODAY AT 10am (Aussie time) 1am (UK time) I guess the planets are aligned and the swell is manageable or something like that but whatever, ‘Good luck Iain’.
As you can see from the photo, he is having a lovely time in Dover and has already started dressing like a Frenchman Oh Là Là!
Gaetan will be proud of you.
43 swimmers today.
Considering it rained pretty much none stop from 6pm last night it wasn’t that bad today.
Fact of the day time: Elephants are capable of swimming twenty miles a day, using their trunks as natural snorkels.
Water Temperature – warmer than yesterday
Air Temperature – nice – the sun was out
Sunrise 6.29am.
Sunset 5.28pm.
High Tide: 12.16 am.
Low Tide: 6.32 pm

Oooh la la! That outfit – c’est si bon, but surely not the best for swimming long distances. Then again, if anyone can do it – YOU can Iain. Alons enfants de la Patrie!
I hope there is a boulangerie avec beaucoup de croissants sur la plage where you land. And have them with lashing of beurre.
Thinking of you!

Thanks a million, Little Tiger, for walking Funny Fat Dog! She loved your company, and I loved the peace of mind knowing she was in great hands while I swam. Lovely! Thank you again. xx

Iain is nearly there, he has had the currents against him for the last 3km / 3 hours or so. Gaetan said it was touch and go as to whether he would get there due to the tides but he was in good spirits. 40 minutes ago Gaetan said Iain only had 1 km to go, so he should be there very soon. Go you good thing Iain

Latest, fresh off the press: 500 metres to go. Gaetan thinks he’s gonna land on the cliff, Iain is exhausted and to quote Gaetan he’s currently slower than Nick TB and slower than Gaetan without his fins. Iain we don’t care how slow you go mate, just finish. Fantastic go you good thing 🙂
