A gorgeous swim this morning, with beautiful clear water.
A massive flathead at Shelly and a tiny baby flathead and a baby stingaree at the point – very cute.
Iain McGregor is safely in Dover, has had a swim in the bay and is looking forward to reaching the French lights that he is currently enjoying on the horizon. Hi
When does everybody decamp for the Dardenells
I would do my best that day to squeeze in a 6.20 to 6.59 swim

Farewell Hazel, I enjoyed watching you enter the water each day accompanied by those gentle lifeguards.
Happy Birthday Michelle.

Hi All,
Dover is going well and I caught up with Stuart Johnson who is also attempting the channel and swam with the B&B for one of our longer swims in the summer.
You will not believe this but I saw a seal in Dover harbor.
I will be hoping to start swimming very very early in the morning as the afternoon winds are really making a mess of the ocean.
Update soon

Thx for telling us the sad news about Hazel. I had a walk with her a few months ago and she told me what she’d eventually learned in life was that we should get up every morning in a good mood, make those around us happy and get in the water every day no matter what! Inspiring for us B&Bs!
Talking of being inspired, Jon and I entered our second ever ocean swimming race on Sunday in preparation for Iain’s celebratory lap here -also 1400m. A lot of fun! Only one ‘collapse’ in the heat and that was the system computer, so all times were lost, conveniently for me! We had to swim across to a small island for the start and then finished at Deep Water Bay, for those who know Hong Kong. I even remembered to ‘skate’, Jules!!

Thanks for sharing your wonderful memory of Hazel, Sarah. It appears she has left an indelible mark on me with her fabulous and ‘commonsensicle’ tips on how to live a good life. She had nine decades to practice, after all – little wonder so many of the pearls of wisdom rang so true.
I didn’t realise Hong Kong had swimmable water (outside of the hotel pools…) Very inspirational indeed, you two.

Its nice info sharing here. Swimming along channel crossings is a very good event. its better to swim at the early morning itself. let me share some recent photos if you had.
