Well….. It started with a power blackout and a dark sunrise with the water looking a little choppy …

Katrina had the extra large coffee mug

But there was something “special” going on at Booty Camp.
Annie was been working hard on a special ritual to make the sun come out….

Fashion etiquette – If you’re going to make a statement – make sure you pull it off…
Here’s JP pulling it off… on Japanese Whaling patrol… good job JP,
there were no whales taken on his watch..

Then the Booty Camp pagan rituals kicked in –
and the sun came out!

It was pretty good…

There was clowning on the point…

Huw swims 0.00675 m/s faster with his new goggles…

Alan and Lutz hit the big 500!

This one… well…. speaks for itself…

Rowdy Rod kept his hands above the water….

Time to put on the snorkel and see whats underwater…

…and there was still a little wave in…

Have a great weekend 🙂 ND

The next significant date in the B&B social calendar is the annual Trivia Night at the Steyne Hotel on Tuesday 6th May! So save the date, gather your team, and start preparing to join the exclusive ranks of former Trivia Winners who have squared up to our very own quizmaster, John Kelly. Theme to be announced soon. . .
If you would like to help out, we need some volunteers on the night. Plus if you could donate items for team prizes, auction items or raffle prizes that would be great. Any goods or services will be most gratefully received, and the funds raised will go towards the B&B’s running costs. This year we will be joined by the Royal Far West who will be assisting in fundraising for the event, and will receive part of the funds raised on the night. For donations, please contact Ian (0142 331530 or ugoboyo@gmail.com)

great photo of Ted !
Yeah the sun was warm – I had a bit of a tan when I got home so I think my stinger suit might need to come out again!

…Yes, lovely pic and when I met Ted at the coffee stand, his face was still covered with Shelly souvenirs:-)
A great relief all round to find the electricity back on when the main group got back… some of the early-birds were in a panic at the thought of no coffee reward! Katrina obviously not concerned.

You can spot a professional..Lesbubbles manages to submerge, strike a pose and smile(pic 10)
Apologies to the person that my foot connected with…sorry
On the way back from Shelly i stopped near the point and talked to someone that was on their phone and trying to facetime his mum in the UK.
Apparently you can get coverage up to a metre below the surface..briiliant.

Great blog.
The fish are amazing this time of year, seems so many newborns.
Jane do fish breed at any particular time?

heehee yeah my many hopeless previous attempts have been well documented on the blog…it just takes practice – what I now know:
1. Smile – don’t hold breath in cheeks (“pufferfish”)
2. ass DOWN and preferably away from camera side
3. no releasing of bubbles from either end of body!
4 Legs TOGETHER ..no clackers please!
5. and finally look TOWARDS the camera!

Good question! The honest answer is “I don’t know”, though I expect it varies between species. Breeding takes place out to sea, and the thousands of tiny juveniles we see were actually born – or hatched – out there. The larvae stay out there and don’t come into the reef areas till they are bigger, when they are classed as juveniles.

Are you sure you saw the fish from your balcony? 🙂

I expect the guy with the phone was the same guy not that long ago who stood on the rocks at halfway screaming he saw a shark!

800K and I’ve reached Brisbane! Exactly half 007’s total – but then I’m only here half the year, so not bad for the tortoise!!

Ha, ha… and show how ‘naturally’ it’s all done! You could hold workshops on underwater blog-tarting and give up your day job!

Also.. I’d like to add a bit about selection – The one that gets picked in the end is the one that has everyone in the frame – no matter what they’re doing, so holding the pose is essential!

Bravo LSA. Maybe you could ride your new bike back from Brissy. 😉
Ace underwater crowd shots, Nick. maybe we should do a big group FaceTime underwater wave to the swimmer’s mum in the UK? She’d love it right?

I just barely missed the 7am swim, by 4 hours. Was beautiful though, this 11am splinter group might work well going forward

Maybe Jane could ask AusMus.
