10/12/2011 – All Sorts…

96 Bold & Beautiful swimmers.

A few dusty appearences but a great turnout with high levels of motivation for a 6km Saturday Summer Badge Swim this morning which was remarkable after dancing the night away last night 🙂

Unfortunately the blue bottles soon changed most people’s priorities to coffee.

But not Brendan Maher, Collie Kinsela and Tony Box, who braved it for the team and were rewarded with no stings and beautiful clear water the whole way to Freshie and back.  Well done guys, we’re sorry we didn’t join you now 🙁

James Goins did however rush to Freshie Rock Pool to meet the hardy trio with his camera hence the great photos below, thanks James.

The rest of us had an eclectic range of activities from a swim from Manly to Shelly and back, to Half Way beach to… well… 100m out and back, to a walk down the ramp and back, to a relay race in Fairy Bower rock pool, to rock climbing.  You name it, we had it this morning.

A massive thank you to The Steyne Hotel for hosting our B&B Retro Christmas party last night, to all our swimmers who didn’t just turn up but turned up in style and with their party hats and dancing shoes on !!  A very special thank you to Warwick Edman our very own DJ who

made the night by keeping us supplied with top tunes to dance to all night long.  It really was a fantastic night, thanks to you guys !

Everyone got to take home a little B&B gift from the party too, thanks to Annette Willows, James and Nicolee Goins and Maureen Rath, who have been collectively named ‘The Wall of Thought’.  They kindly handmade 200 B&B Christmas Tree Decorations for us all !!  You guys are terrific; so thoughtful, creative and talented.  Thank you !  There are a few decorations left over, so if you would like one it’s first in best dressed to collect yours at tomorrow’s swim.

Heidi James made a lovely cake which we all enjoyed at brekkie this morning to celebrate Ragnill’s time with B&B.  You still have time to farewell Ragnill before she leaves us next Sunday afternoon as she heads back home to Norway.

Don’t forget our B&B Christmas Adventure Swim 7am next Sunday, 18th December for a gentle swim from Manly to South Curl Curl.  All participants on craft and land contingent are most valuable, welcome and appreciated… so please join in anyway you can.
