70 ‘ticked’ Bold & Beautiful swimmers
A sensational swim this morning, and great photos courtesy of James Goins all with a lovely grey kinda blue theme throughout.
The water was clear, flat and beautiful with lots of blue groupers. A little wave as we left Shelly Beach and Peter Graham said the water was wet… 😉
We learnt this week that our regular sting rays are not actually called sting rays, they are stingarees ! Cute hey 🙂
A couple of people are training for the 8km Magnetic Island swim at the end of July and the 4km swim across the Dardanelles at the end of August so there will be some swimmers doing a second lap of Shelly tomorrow, continuing on afte our regular lap at 7am if anyone’s keen ? Everyone’s welcome of course.
A great photo of Diana Robertson as she successfully completed the Alcatraz swim unassisted, in her wetsuit – well done Diana a fantastic achievement, what’s
the next goal ??
When one of our swimmers, Cathie Coleman was at Wollongong hospital for a term as a resident way back in 2002 she recorded this beautiful water song, Exploring The Blue, by Luka Bloom with a friend of hers. Cathie very kindly shared it with me the other day and it’s so beautiful and perfect for all of us she has agreed to share it with you all, to listen to it please click here. Let’s hope Cathie will perform it live for us one day 🙂

Beautiful swim this morning. Shouldn’t let 4 year olds play with your goggles, mine were full of water on the way to Shelley and back. Lovely photos. Found in the ladies public shower this morning, one pair of “beautiful black,’FUTURA BIOFUSE’ speedo goggles”. Will bring them tomorrow.

The doco. film “Oceans” is coming to Manly Cinemas on July 7th. It looks spectacular and I’m sure all the B&Bs would love it. Check it out and see the trailer on:

No problem Debbie – we must look after our fellow swimmers when needed.

Thanks Jane – I had absolutely no idea it had been on You Tube since 2006! Only found it there on Wednesday night looking for Luka Bloom lyrics and I saw the CD cover picture that my friend Frank had made for the couple of songs we recorded. See you on the weekend!

Thanks Guys! It was one of those swims I have wanted to do for a long time – and now that I can say I have “never again!” is the first thing out my mouth!
