I’m an ocean lover and I’m sure you are too. Swimming is one of the great joys of my life and even on stingy days & always feel happier after being in the ocean. But it seems to me its not the swimming bit I love most.
In her new book, The Nature Fix, journalist Florence Williams summarises the research showing our connection to the natural world and nature’s impact on our health, creativity, and happiness. You literally think better and feel better after a nature fix. She has proved what we know already – we are hard wired to love being in nature and for us it’s the ocean.
She sums up what she’s learned into a simple prescription: “Go outside, often, sometimes in wild places. Bring friends or not. Breathe.” Sounds like a plan.
It’s great to know there’s evidence of this now, all the evidence I need is to watch the smile on people’s faces when we have a swim.
Here are a few highlights from those of us who took our ocean medicine today.
Even the thought of having a nature pill gets us excited…
Then nature awaits to give us our medicine…
What a sunrise for the 630 crew…
The leader of the Drinks Express…
Some of this nature medicine is easy to take…
And of course there is the swim part too…
Back on dry land we welcome back Bruce for his first swim since his surgery… great to see you back in the water Bruce…and at the tables of wisdom and knowledge…
Today’s Stats
Water temp was 23.3 degrees.

Let’s all stay well medicated…:)

Great blog Pete – plenty to see today – saw the eagle rays on the move but still haven’t seen the turtle – think I need to go swimming with the turtle whisperers Elaine and Edwina
