Spring has Sprung – 1/9/15

September 1, 20154

With a 4-6ft 9 second swell from the south east being hounded round the point by a 2 knot direct southerly, it was once again a perfect storm of conditions. With an inbound mid tide high at 10am and a clearing of the underwater fog, we finally could see some action underwater.

It really did feel like summer with an almost 19 degrees

and a ball of Sun that had already been in full swing for some time.

The long walk was a quiet affair this morning with lots of early starters

Lots of sand for a half tide

With Ed rounding up the stragglers

And Derrick rounding up Ed

We were finally away

Lots of fishies watching the people

And people watching the fishies

And other watching the shore

With such a high Sun it found its way through

in greens and blues

But the fish didnt care

Around the middle it murked up

But then slowly cleared

To a perfect Spring day

And nothing better than Sparkles sporting a Spring smile

And on the way back some friends had been hiding

Here and there

And then we were back

on another perfect day

So you are all likely wondering why I was late today. Well there is a story there but let me shorten it to a technical problem which was resolved by our friends at Office Works and their 9pm close times. Thank heavens or I would have missed the midnight deadline.

Sorry for the delay just a busy Spring day.

Have a great week

Brian

The next B&B monthly dinner will be on Tuesday 8th September at 6.30 pm at Bluewater Restaurant.
Our guest speaker will be Guy Dunstan, who held CEO and senior management positions with major media and investment banking corporations in twenty countries throughout the world.  That was before he experienced a severe episode of mental ill-health (severe melancholic depression + bi-polar disorder) and was forced to leave the workforce.  From that moment, his life spiraled out of control in a seemingly never-ending downward vortex that ultimately resulted in him losing his career, reputation, wealth, marriage, family and friends.  He was left broke, homeless and socially shunned.  With seemingly no other options available , Guy eventually reentered the workforce as a manual laborer working the night shift at the Sydney Fruit Markets . After 2 years in that role he now regards this period as the toughest ,yet most challenging ,meaningful ,and rewarding of his career .
Guy is uniquely placed to offer insights into the complex and largely misunderstood subject of mental health and it´s prevalence and impact in the workplace . Guy will deliver an insiders view of what it is really like to experience mental ill-health in the workplace ,and ,in particular how this experience can potentially impact the lives of individuals concerned , the groups they work in ,and the organization as a whole .
Guy is currently Senior Advisor to The Black Dogs Institute Australia´s leading research institute in the area of Mental Health and Mood Disorders .

The cost of the dinner is only $25 a head and includes shared entrees, a selection of mains to choose (incl a vegetarian option), corkage (for byo wine only) and a little thank you for the staff. Glasses of beer or wine and desserts are also available at the special price of only $5 each. Numbers are limited, so bookings are essential:  To avoid disappointment and secure your spot please BOOK HERE NOW,

Well done Elizabeth, it probably gets the award for the latest. New camera no cord to extract the pictures till my son bought it home from work. Then when he got home it was the wrong one so down to Office works with minutes to spare. Got there in the end.
