Around 5 this morning the first cracks of lightning let loose and I thought a sleep in was on the cards but alas too noisy to sleep. So here is the story as it unfolded.
With 30 cm’s of dribble and an ever so light nor easter puffing occasionally. Interestingly we have South Easterly forecast tomorrow then back to N/E for the rest of the week.
About 90 brave souls with 4 new test pilots took to the 23 degree splash.
Never let a bit of murk get in the way of a swim.
Derek cleaning his fog from the lenses.
Caught in the glare.
On quiet days its a lonely business. Spot the swimmer.(Gayle Mcknight)
On the way over I met this Mum and daughter in for a morning hit out and loving it.
And then on the high road, Mcnaughty keeping an eye on Gayle who was out for a double.
And to prove it, he pointed her out in the gloom. Could this be the nicest man in Manly keeping an eye on his beloved.
And this friend for all the Chapman clan.
As you can see it was busy.
And Ted trying to slip in un noticed.
And one of the first timers made it back.
Penny and Peter after another Point expedition.
And Michael and Lou celebrating their 36th wedding anniversary.
But then the Bluewater Coffee for the perfect completion.
Hoping you have a great weekend.
And in some new developments, get involved if you can.
“Clear Tides is a non-profit organisation that was established in 2017 by Marine biology student, bold and beautiful swimmer and cabbage tree bay snorkel instructor – Jessica Brading. The mission of the organisation is to spread our love and respect for the ocean, environment and marine animals.
On Sunday 21st January, Clear Tides is holding their first ever event – SHELLY BEACH CLEAN AND SNORKEL!
Head on over to Shelly beach after your morning swim and help Jess and her team clean up our beloved bay and then head out for a snorkel after (or another swim if your game). If thats not enough incentive… theres free brunch!
Invite your friends and family – lets team up and support local organisations in maintaining our beautiful cabbage tree bay.”

Really enjoyed the blog, but I could not find the name of the blogger? Great lightening shots and shots of our murky swim. I enjoyed the fewer numbers in the water.

Hi Jess. Can you make contact. Would like to organise a group of ‘Cadets’ 14-17yr olds from North Steyne to help on Sunday 21.
