My path up the beach stops me in my tracks. 12 bluebottles. I shit myself. Some debate, we swim anyway. Matt goes back to bed.

Water temp rising, look for bait schools, that bring in the salmon, that bring in the bigger predators looking for breakfast. Cameron tells of the shark shaped seaweed patch he ran into yesterday. Still nervous he swims inside my line. The weed is disappearing. Someone spotted a grey nurse at the point. No breeze no blue bottles. Head for the Turtle House, found Billy waking up the other day. Do they sleep upside down? Lainey looks at me like I’ve escaped from an asylum. Back & 200m off the point a tap on the foot, the drinks express has caught us, like maimed road kill we flap along in admiration. Another swim, great friends, despite expectations of dangers, we survive and start another day.

Roger, that sounds like a very interesting phenomen! I have a number of theories, all plausible to some degree:
1. Popularity of the content, fuelled by the left of centre leaning green element of the B&B.
2. The slightly racy last photo, and the general underlying theme of naughtiness in our blogs, aka the Benny Hill effect.
3. The anti establishment tone, especially tapping into general disbelief held for the thermometer wielding scientists who hide in our ranks. As a case in point 2 blogs back the accidental purchase of a rectal thermometer got many accolades privately.
4. Maybe a FB setting of the individual reader?
5. Maybe a typepad setting ‘accidentally’ discovered by the blogs publisher. In fact thinking about it I do recall such a setting. I do prefer explanations 1-4 however in the interests of sanity I will research and possibly update such setting.
