92 Bold & Beautiful swimmers.
Caps are on. It must be 7am, time to go…

A cloudy morning with a few little waves in close to shore, just to help you get in that little bit quicker 😉

Someone’s pretty excited with themselves for getting out through those waves… Elaine and Vicki 🙂

It was a calm swim across the bay, well apart from the odd jump from a few jimbles.
Matt’s ditched his wetsuit and is looking happy 🙂 Oh what the pressure of a badge can do 😉

It’s time for the swim back

Deb didn’t realise, but she was preparing herself for a double, well sort of, she joined the other 5 swimmers for an extra swim up to the pipe as they didn’t fancy going back through the jimbles for a second lap

If you’re swimming winter without wetsuit it pays to find yourself a ‘Jimble Whisperer’ to clear the way for you on mornings like these, thanks Lucy 🙂

You notice how you regret having a sleep in on those mornings you don’t come down for a swim… Well, you never regret coming down for a swim once it’s over… It always feels fantastic at the end 🙂

Although for some, just a swim is not quite enough… Go Neil !

Remembering that Friday is work colleague day Nicolee thought she’d share the love and bring a different work colleague this morning, Ben 🙂

Welcome to all 5 of our first time swimmers this morning too, including Rachael and Rowena Mulholland who are here on holiday from Canada !

32 swimmers have now qualified for their 2012 winter badge !! To see who they are and how you and your friends are tracking please click here
Plus it’s getting close but it’s still not too late to start… with 49 days and 8 weeks (if you include this weekend) of winter left to go. To qualify you only need to swim 20 times over a minimum of 7 different weeks !! Don’t wish you’d swum, join in now 🙂
Meanwhile, on tour it seems that Ian and Pauline Forster are happily playing games together in Heron Island…

Check out Todd McLaren’s beautiful baby boy, Hudson, who is soon to be in the pink 😉

Stephen posts our blog on a facebook page each day called ‘did you swim today’ and one our followers from their, Shawn Turner (who is in the USA) commented to Stephen on yesterday’s blog that maybe the Jimble is upset that the Newfoundland was named our mascot. Good point Shaun ! OK, sorry Jimbles, we love the fact that you want to swim with us and we appreciate the effort that you’ve gone to in swimming in pink, but please would you mind taking the sting out of your tentacles now !!
Also I included a photo yesterday of Dave Brown on tour in Crater Lake. Shawn has confirmed that Crater Lake is actually in Oregon, north of California, not San Fransisco. Whoops, sorry about that, thank you for the clarification 🙂

hee hee it’s true – I swam behind wetsuited Michelle yesterday and she cleared a nice jimble free path for me! 🙂

Yes I’ve never been ‘jimbled’. (Even not wearing a wetsuit 21 times this Winter) – thought I’d sneak that one in! I think it might be because I always try to ‘hitch a ride’ on the back of someone. Getting close up to other people’s bubbles also makes for a warmer crossing. So thanks John Kelly for being a Jimble Catcher for me today. I apologise in advance for tickling the toes though!
Ted’s jimble sting has all bubbled and blistered up but he’ll be back for more tomorrow to get his 20th WWW! When I tell people in excitement about getting this badge they think I am crazy and can’t believe it’s only a badge not a free holiday we get! Then again it’s holiday time every day down at South Steyne for us merry lot!
