12/08/2012 – Fanatics Anonymous

On a day like today with the wind howling and the seas roaring you wouldn’t be surprised if no one swam, but not here…

51 zealous Bold & Beautiful swimmers came down to be rewarded with remarkably pleasant conditions.

The swell has started to turn round to the east so our lovely little protected corner in Manly is starting to get some swell.

The waves were coming in nice sets creating plenty of fun for the surf swimmers amongst us.

 

 

 

 

For us more open water swimmers, we enjoyed the pleasantries that half way beach had to offer

To sing happy birthday to Alex Prendergast… although he got a little more than just a happy birthday song from Iain this morning 😉

 

 

I guess there was some marine life amongst us although we didn’t see any as the motion of the ocean had caused a bit of a stir.

The good news is there were NO JIMBLES 🙂  Yet no one did a double lap, what’s with that ???  That would be the first time in a long time there were no doublers.

Meanwhile on tour, Derek M is enjoying the blue skies and calm waters of Lake Tahoe in California 🙂
