95 Bold and Beautiful Swimmers, mostly dad’s!
Picture below is deceiving – it was ffffreeezing!! Sea temp was 14.5!! Michael Christie you missed it!! Just kidding it was 15.8… (air temp a cooool 8 degrees)
Conditions were lovely – and set to continue for a few days – by Thurs it should be flat seas and air temp much warmer! YEAH!! and I think a more northerly wind, which = warm!
Happy Father’s Day to all our dad’s who turned up (and to those that didn’t) – There were a lot of female’s missing today no doubt so the dad’s could come down / get breakfast in bed???
Below Elaine was impressed with John K’s pre-swim attire and Happy Birthday to Jenny Knapman (who is one half of the reason Bold and Beautiful Exists!)

A surprise visit from Neil – I think he’s here because I just passed him on the Pacific Challenge!!
Check out where you are on it! Click Here

Charlie de Jager on his first swim with us – he was very excited to be here – Mum, Elaine, making sure he was ready! 😀

Scattered pink hats at the Point – Dad’s got a 10 second start… The rest of us waited and counted down from 10…really fast mind you 🙂

A little flathead joined us today!
We sang Happy Birthday to Jenny at Shelly….(happy birthday also to Mary Stollery who didn’t swim today)

Too many happy smiley faces!!

There was a commotion at the showers after we got out…Pete B had brought his Hot Teddy Bottle to warm up with..I wonder who he borrowed it from?!!

Don’t forget the Winter Badge ceremony is next Sunday – it’s great fun and of course there is breakfast and you get a badge (or 3)!
To please book in for our Winter Badge Ceremony at Whitewater for a $10 brekkie straight after the swim on Sunday 9th Sept ! Everyone is welcome… Bookings are essential though for catering purposes, so please book here asap, thank you.

Since the water was actually colder today and yesterday than the rest of the days in winter then should winter challenge rightfully include these very challenging water temperatures this month? The ocean doesn’t read the calendar. Today and yesterday without a wetsuit would have been something to be impressed with. (I know, admin nightmare with keeping track of more people for a longer time. )

Thanks for a great blog while Jules is away Lesley and to Mr Kelly for taking on some of her duties. He did look rather comical in his faded pink budgies and ugg boots though! I think we should do a whip around to buy him some new ones!
Happy Birthday Jenny K and Happy Fathers Day to all Dads. I’m not sure if Jules will agree with your suggestion Inez but you are right it is extremely cold at the moment but always beautiful!

Great blog….. big welcome Charlie de J and love the attire John K. Good to see Neil and kisses to Jenny K…
Meanwhile, wiped out after a 2k swim race in lovely warm water and air in HK – but the start was like trying to pluck blue bottles off as racers climbed all over me….
Off to Poland tomorrow where the water temp will be more like what you’re all enduring….ffff….

Stuart who did a double crossing last year is currently swimming to possibly do a triple?! He’s been swimming for 10 hours now. Good Luck Stuart!
